both are going to be my safety schools if i dont get accepted to stony brook university but tell me what you think about the schools...btw albany is 2 hours away from me and buffalo is 7 and one of the huge offsets to albany u is that i know someone who was murdered over there so that really effects my judgement of the school. so far to me buffalo seems like the better choice but which schools are better academically and everything and which school is harder to get in

I’d lean toward Buffalo for the better national rep., but the reason why I have heard of it was because I was college-looking in WNY with the assisstance of my Fiske Guide.

If you have the slightest ill feeling about a college now, I can guarantee you that you will not be happy attending there in your future.

Um… I’m not even sure it’s possible for Albany to be 2hrs away when Buffalo is 7hrs away. It takes like 4hrs to get between Albany and Buff.

That being said, Buff, to me, is the overall better school. At least from my area, it attracts better students, it’s known for its better engineering, and it definitely has a more balanced social scene. Kids from my HS used to come back reporting that by 8pm on any night Thur-Sun you would already hear ambulances picking up kids who were so drunk they needed medical help.

Now I’m positive that is a huge overstatement, but all in all Albany really is known for being a bit party-crazy.

yea thats another thing i dnt want to go to a big party school because i feel like im going to get distracted and i dont wanna fail out because my parents will literally kill me but ill probly do good but im realy hoping to get into stony brook…i think i have a pretty good shot there my bro got in with an 82 and my sister got in with an 89 and i have an 87 unweighted with tons of ec’s and a better sat
