I want to open up a student checking account, and also receive a credit/debit card that I can use around campus. I was leaning towards Bank of America's student account, but I recently heard about UFCU.

Is anyone familiar with UFCU and what benefits it offers? Should I go and create an account, or should I look elsewhere?

At this point, I want recommendations so I can make a clear and smart decision before school starts.

Thanks for the help!

Check out their website, www.ufcu.org , they are fantastic!

Yeah, UFCU seems like a great place to open my first checking account, especially since I’m a student. It sounds too good to be true as I’m comparing it with some banks haha.

The free checking account seems easy to set up, and is FREE. And I’ve only heard positive reviews thus far.

UFCU is awesome! I’ve had an account with them for a few years now and they have always been amazing. Great customer service. There are also tons of UFCU ATMs on UT campus; more than any other bank, I think. Highly recommend getting an account with them.
