Same happened here. Message disappeared about a week ago. I’m hoping it means the application is now in someone’s review queue.
Nuts - and now the message is back again.
The message disappeared for us too and now it just came back. Wasn’t there this morning.
Same here. It disappeared for a few days (and wasn’t there earlier today) and is now back again.
Just received acceptance email! Hopefully good news for you is coming shortly!
Congratulations and thank you! My daughter received an acceptance a few hours ago, too.
My son is a sophomore at Bama – if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them (or at least try to).
Applied during free application week and acceptance came yesterday.
How long after the message went away in the portal did the acceptance email come? What time of day was the email received?
It went away from last Thursday (11/9) until late sometime on Monday (11/13), and then my daughter got her acceptance email at 2:14 ET on Tuesday (11/14).
Thank you! One more question…when was the application submitted?
On Friday, 10/20.
For those that applied in August, is anyone still waiting? We are
High-stat kids get the fastest turnaround—usually between 5 and 10 days. GPAs around 3.5 are getting in, but it takes a lot longer. Kids with GPAs below 3.5 seem to take the longest, with many still waiting. If you are higher than 3.5, there might be an issue with the application. Maybe have your child call the admissions office to inquire.
What does your message say>
Under review. Everything is complete and submitted. Applied 8/31. Transcripts received 9/13. So, we’ll keep waiting!
A friendly message to your local recruiter, I think , would be appropriate. A 3.5mo wait is really pretty long… Just a hey, wanted to follow up… good luck!
Applied 11/1, accepted yesterday to engineering (OOS). Not really sure how to apply to Honors College but she did indicate interest. Will call Monday to find out - interested in the Randall Research which is due early December.
Congrats! (signed another Mom of twins who knows how stressful it is )
Congrats, just a reiteration of something I said upthread: Honors College does require an application & essay - it’s not automatic. I found an “apply to Honors College” link on the HC pages, but its inactive. I guess an email is best. Be aware that if your kid wants to do Honors Action - a volunteering thing a week before regular move-in - they must be accepted to HC first.
Also be aware that Honors Action is a one-credit-hour “course” that will apply during the fall semester! This made registration a bit of a problem, because the (not NMF) scholarship only covers 16 hours.
Set up the MyBama account. Under Students on the left, there is a section for Honors College, including the application for HC as well as Randall Research.
