University of Bath Or York?

I've gotten offers from both Bath and York.
I am gonna do a Computer Science course, UG.

Can someone tell me which would be the better option?
For the course, as well as overall.

Thanks :)

I can offer you the lamest of advice: go to the two ranking tables for UK schools and decide basing it on that.
York is famous for Microbiology. Bath is famous for Architecture and a couple of other majors. If it came down to these subjects I would be able to give you advice, but considering the given choice - not really.

I wouldn’t say either of these unis is particularly “famous” for anything specific, but using the ranking tables for your specific subject may help. Othrwise, if you really can’t decide, which place do you like better? They are both modern-ish (1960s I reckon) campuses on the edge of ancient cities.

Living costs in York are almost certainly going to be a lot less than Bath, especially when “living out” after your first year, in privately rented accommodation. In general the further north you go in England, the cheaper everything is, but it’s colder.

Where will you be travelling from? Can you fly into Manchester cheaply? That is very convenient for York. Bristol airport is convenient for Bath but I don’t think any flights from outside of Europe land there (there is actually a small airport very close to York called Leeds-Bradford, but I don’t think it has a lot of flights. Certainly not from the US).

If you like hills, go to Bath. The campus is at the top of a massive one. York is totally flat.

Honestly I had never been to Cambridge before my interview there, and I choose a college to apply to based on its photo online. Choosing somewhere based on these lifestyle factors in pretty common I think. You cannot possibly know about every variable to compare.

But congratulations - this is a nice choice to have to make.

I don’t think these two can be even compared. Go with Bath. It’s an amazing university and it is way better in both academics and social life that York.

Hello

I have recently applied to Bath University and Southampton University, I am from India and have a predicted score of 93%.

I wanted to know would these colleges offer me a scholarship of 1-2k and also what would be chances of getting into these colleges

Thanks
