University of British Columbia -- UBC

Has anyone been accepted yet to the UBC?

If so, when did you apply and to which faculty did you apply?

Seriously, nobody here has even applied to UBC?

I need to find a Canadian version of CC

Calling all canadians!!

hey!

sorry haha

yeah i live in vancouver, and UBCs one of my choices (sort of a safety, unless i get a full scholarship :) )

anyways, ive been accepted by mcgill, and my friends by SFU, but i havent heard anyone get into UBC yet.

so don't worry.... i didnt apply till second or 3 week of jan, so i dont expect it for a couple weeks or so.

when did you apply? and outta curiosity, where are you from?

I'm a Canadian citizen who lives in Seattle...

I go to the University of Washington...but hopefully won't soon!

UBC's campus and atmosphere are second to none--

McGill is beautiful--but the river in Montreal is brown---lol--honestly, that is the reason I didn't attend after high school---I have to have pristine saltwater Ocean near me to survive---

I applied in December, but my application wasnt "ready for evaluation" until three weeks ago...

Yeah I think they take longer to process than the other Canadian Universities. Good luck!

i haven't applied to UBC, but I'm Canadian and there is kind of an equivalent to CC.

Studentawards Forum

Student Awards is mainly a website for finding scholarships, but the message boards do get used a lot too. It doesn't compare to CC, and there seems to be a focus on Ontario universities, but hopefully it can be of some help!

wow, cool

thanks, ill check out the studentawards forum

second call to all Canadians!

Rec'd an acceptance to second choice program with a 5k scholarship last week on the day 12th grade transcript arrived (according to online SSC account). Acceptance to first choice (applied sciences/engineering) still pending evaluation...status finally changed today to reflect receipt of transcript. Hopefully, will know something soon.

WA state resident

I'm sure it's just a matter of different deadlines for different faculties---

I applied first choice to science---I've heard from a handful of people that have received offers from faculty of science, but most offers seem to be from arts...

I got my acceptance to the faculty of science a week, maybe 2, ago. :) $3000 entrance scholarship.

I'm an international, btw.

Hey cdover, did you apply for scholarship? I'm a confused international :D

Congratulations cdover

andreeab--UBC awards scholarship based on high school GPA---you don't have to apply for entrance scholarship

I am a transfer student so I'm hoping that I get accepted and the reason that they are taking so long to respond is because they are trying to sort out transfer credit...

knock on wood...

Thank you! Good luck to you guys.

I got straight As on my A-levels, I don't understand why I didn't get the $5000, lol. Not that I'm complaining, or anything!

Any H-kin applicants hear yet?

you only have to apply for their major entrance scholarship. And offers of admission are based on when you applied; I only applied three weeks ago so I don't expect it till beginning of march. I'm from Vancouver BTW

i have yet to hear from h kin--it was my 2nd choice--my first choice being science

hahahaa same ^^^
