University of Calfornia (UC) acceptance

@ summon1
If they requested one, and you did not do it, then yes. Otherwise no.

Already got in: Riverside, Irvine, Davis (ELC), SD, LA
Waiting on: Berkeley.

Does anyone know whether major will affect acceptance into Berkeley? I chose undeclared/letters and science for Berkeley, but Biology for UCLA and UCSD and so far I’ve been accepted to both? Please help! I’m worried that I won’t get accepted because of my undeclared major. :/

Rejected for SD, but accepted to Irvine!! This makes me optimistic about Santa Barbara decisions tomorrow but I’m still really nervous

pinayako58, I would say that your chances improve, not diminish, by being undeclared at UCB. Good luck!

Wooo! I’ve now been accepted to all of the UC’s I applied to! Sooo…

Accepted:
Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
UCSB

Life is good. hahaha

@wadawada, are you a regent’s scholar for berkeley?

Yeah! So I haven’t seen an official acceptance letter, but they made it very clear that we’re admitted to the school. You too?

Wait listed for Santa Barbara :/
My stats are 3.95 GPA and 1980 SAT
do you think that there is any chance I will get in still?
I know it’s still new, but does anyone know the admissions rate of waitlisted students at UCSB last year?

@wadawada lol are the UCs a backup for you XD

hahaha I’m really not that fantastic of an applicant, trust me… I guess I’ve just been lucky with admissions so far! I’d consider myself decently well-rounded but not spectacular in any one area. UCSB was my safety because of ELC, but past that I assumed for the worst! I know I’d be happy at any of these schools.

i put undeclared/letters and science for berkeley too, and indicated in my personal statement that i wanna major in film studies. Sadly it wasnt on the option i guess so i just put undeclared but i know berkeley has a decent film program. im now worried about my chances at berkeley too cuz of the undeclared major. I got into uci and ucsb(which is good in film studies too). PS, i know ucla is best on film but i got rejected so yeh =[

wada, Your stats/resume were very good, certainly not the best and definitely not the worst. Your “technically Hispanic” status was definitely an added “bonus” and was probably taken into account-- wouldn’t you agree?.

I would definitely agree with you, jshain! I’m not sure how much my URM status was taken into account considering other highly qualified minority friends not getting accepted, but I fully acknowledge that it can’t hurt. haha

so far ive gotten into UCB and im in the running for regents, UCLA, and UCSD. Im waiting on UCD though but im not so concerned with that anymore haha

Are you a transfer or a freshmen? And did you apply for the film dept?

UC’s were my backups but I got into my top choices so I declined my offer of admission to UCD and UCSD and will soon for UCLA and UCB (just in case you never know)

3.8 UW
4.5 W
1830 SAT

Accepted:
UCLA
UCD (ELC)
UCSD (Regents?)
UCB (Spring Admit)
Other Privates…

i got cal regents.
hey dulcecab i dont mean to be rude but do you think that URM had a big factor in your college admissions? considering your not so great SAT?
