University of California Berkeley Out of State

Hello fellow confidentialiers!

Is it true its a LOT easier for out of state applicants to get admission into UCB?
-----If so, my parents are willing to pay full price and i guess ill add to the diversity.

What are thoughts? What is the cutoff SAT/ACT Score(safety) for engineering program or law over there?

No cutoffs for SAT/ACT. You want the highest possible or at least at the 75th percentile and with the UC’s especially UCB, is the no “Safety”. Admissions is much more than SAT/ACT. Excellent GPA with a rigorous HS course, outstanding essays and EC’s.

Thanks so much! How does 4.0 unweighted, Top 10% at competitive, public high school , 210 PSAT as junior, 6 APS: Calc BC AP, Physics 1/2 AP, Chem 2 AP, Bio 2 AP , English Language and Composition AP , and AP USH , and Varsity Swimming sound so far? But im very bad standardized test-taker… @gumbymom

210 PSAT is an excellent score. You look like you are on the right track. Study hard for the SAT, keep up your grades and EC’s. At the end of your Junior year, calculate your weighted (capped 8 semester Honor points) and Uncapped weighted UC GPA. For OOS, you can only use AP classes in 10-11th for the extra honors points.

Good Luck.

It’s not that much easier for OOS… even so, aim for 32+/2150+.
