University of California & SAT Subject Tests

To preface, yes, I know UC has closed off admission. I submitted an application in November and it's in their database; I have, however, neglected to pay the $300 in application fees I owe them.

I have until February 15th to pay for my 5 applications that I submitted to the University of California. My problem is that I've taken the ACT and SAT, but I did not take any SAT II's. I can't get a definitive answer on how required they are... will they throw my application out if I haven't taken any? Am I just a long shot? Or will they overlook it if everything else is in order?

I have ACT and SAT scores in the 99th percentile and I have multiple AP credits (3 in areas which the SAT II tests). So do I pay the fees and get my applications considered or do I abandon all hope and use the money to apply to more viable universities?

And as a side note, I am applying for the Class of 2011.

I don’t personally have the answer, but I know someone who does- admissions. Call/e-mail them about a highly qualified application that lacks SAT subject tests. They’ll let you know what impact it will have.

They’ll probably still consider you as an applicant, but it WILL impact your chances, especially if you applied for engineering.

Edit: You’re not applying for class of 2011, unless you have a time machine that goes back to 2006 to apply for a winter 2007 spot at UC. You’re applying for class of 2015.
