Interesting about the major disappearing, each portal seems to have it’s quirky tells. Pitt’s had the buttons appear accept/decline before notification. Fingers crossed for all…
I wonder when merit will be given out for UDel? My D18 is waiting on her merit from Pitt that’s supposed to be starting now in December. So much waiting…not good for impatient people like me
@AmyBeth68 I feel you. I’ve applied to 12 colleges and can’t wait for decisions to come out. Have been accepted to Pitt as of now.
I’ve been accepted to all of my schools expcet Udel, which happens to be my first choice
@partyprincess What other schools have you been accepted to?
@itwasawedding…Pitt as well for my D18 What is your top choice?
@partyprincess What other schools have you applied to and do you mind sharing your stats? CONGRATS on all your acceptances!
@AmyBeth68 Can’t decide between UMass, Pitt, and OSU haha.
I’ve been accepted to Pitt, Widener University, and University of Mount Union.
SAT: 1370 (Math:750 Reading/Writing:620)

Congrats @partyprincess great schools! With your stats no problem at all getting into Udel. Are you trying for Honors College too?
@itwasawedding you cannot go wrong with any of those schools at all!!! Excellent!
Thank you! I didn’t apply for honors college based on what I’ve read about it online. I’ve heard it’s twice the amount of work for the same degree. And with an engineering major, I don’t need any more work :-S
Good point on the extra work…engineering will keep you busy for sure. I’m a Udel Alumni…I know their engineering programs are top notch.
According to my portal, all my materials were in by 10/19 and I still haven’t received an email saying my application is complete. Does that mean that they haven’t even started reviewing my application yet? I’m beyond anxious now.
I just checked Daughters portal and it said “Student Type:Freshman” and the major disappeared so I am I correct in assuming that means shes in
@AmyBeth68 ok since you’re an alumni, what’s your view on delaware as a party school? I’m not interested in Greek life and I want to make sure that if I don’t do Greek life or party I’ll still fit in. I’m sure most engineering majors feel this way too but I thought I’d ask an alumni
@burghdad I would think so, but I wouldn’t gurantee anything yet bc for all we know the major could disappear with a denial. Just a waiting game now.
@co2018xx: DD got an email a week after the portal showed everything was submitted. You may want to call the admissions office and check to make sure everything is there and that your application is under review.
@burghdad: I believe that student type is the application type. DD’s portal shows the same, along with the dates everything was received. Does it say anything else?
@gcnorth I’ve called them twice, and called this morning about my application status. The people I’ve talked to have been practically useless. This morning she told me that they have everything but “it’s just uploading into the system.” If they’ve had it since the 19th of last month, and most people who applied around that time have already received emails, I’m confused as to why I haven’t.
@gcnorth Yes you may be right about that. It doesn’t say anything else but the major has disappeared. Getting ahead of myself.
@partyprincess Delaware has always had that party school reputation but honestly I think it’s a bit misleading. There is a strong Greek presence but by no means do you need to be involved in Greek life to have fun. I was not in a sorority and had the best times of my life at UD. We had a good time… I socialized primarily with engineers… But we weren’t Thurs - Sunday parties. We loved the football games. I played intramurals. We went out on Main Street etc. There is plenty to do if you take advantage of the opportunities that are out there.
