State (if domestic applicant): FL

Hooks (Athlete; first generation college, etc.): Big jump in grades from Freshman to Sophomore year. (like All Bs and a C to All A’s). My extracurriculars involved my major and “my experience I had in creating a solution” was great: I started a district wide mental health awareness program after a student committed suicide. Our school was devastated and I wanted to help because I related so much with that student’s struggle. I wrote about how teen mental health was a problem and how I cooperated with administration to help honor the students memory and prevent it from happening again.
Reflection
Strengths: Resume is pretty much Harvard material
Weaknesses: My GPA and Test Scores were average
Why you think you were accepted: Resume, Essay, and I’m a third generation gator. Also Spoke to my UF Admissions representatives face to face to create a relationship with them.
Where else were you accepted: University of South Carolina, UCF, Auburn, UofAlabama, UofTennessee. Haven’t Heard back from UT Austin yet.
General Comments: I’m passionate about the Gator Nation. I’ve lived, breathed, bled orange and blue for as long as I can remember. My enthusiasm really showed in my application. I also attended College fairs to talk to my admissions representatives and put a face to my application (twice). I did the Gator For a day program as well which allowed me to chat with my rep as well. They’re so easily accessible. If you get them to like you- chances are- they’ll want to click accept!!!
