I live in Texas, but I was considering going to the University of Florida. However, I don't know if I'll be able to if I have to pay out-of-state tuition. This is what the UF says on their website:
"As a recipient of the out-of-state tuition reduction waiver, you receive $2,000 per semester of eligibility. You must complete a minimum of 24 hours at the University of Florida in the fall, spring and summer semesters and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.7 to renew your waiver."

Does this mean that I'll only get $2,000 of extra scholarship money to help pay for tuition?

My GPA is a 3.76 (unweighted) and I got a 31 the ACT, but I plan to retake it in April.

Oh and the OOS tuition waiver is not the only scholarship I’d be hoping to get from the school. UF has OOS scholarships separate from the OOS tuition waiver.

It means that UF waives the entire OOS portion of the tuition, and gives you $2000 per semester towards the in-state portion. You will need higher stats than those listed to below to have a solid chance. All National Merit Finalists admitted to UF are offered that deal, and a few other highly qualified OOS students. Best of luck.
