University of Georgia honors program

How difficult is it to get into the UGA honors program ? I have a 30 super scored 4.22/5 W and a 3.85/4 UW. How difficult is it to get into honors after your first semester?

It’s pretty competitive. They only accept around 500 of the incoming freshmen to join the program (via auto admit or application).
To be honest, I have seen people with varying scores get in. A friend with a 3.7 UW GPA but over a 2000 SAT got in while someone with a 4.0 UW and a 33 ACT got denied.
Unfortunately from your scores, you may not be auto-admitted but if you are accepted EA, you can apply for the honors college (which consists of a personal statement and teacher rec).

ya that’s what I expected! I will still try to apply! Thanks @camover

Good luck! They don’t auto-admit that many so most incoming Honors students had to apply!

Message me if you have any questions about the honors program! I’ve really enjoyed it and encourage everyone to apply after first semester, even if they were denied right out of high school. Don’t forget to take 15 credit hours (5 full-length classes) if you plan to apply!

My daughter just got accepted to honors today
