Hi, I have read around about University Of Houston and it generally has seemed to be regarded pretty low by other users members of the CC community. Now recently I have heard about it improving immensely and was wondering whether it would be a good choice for a Pre-Med student. I am also considering a bunch of other schools but in particular would like to look into University Of Houston as I have family in Houston. Thanks
I don’t think the schools make that much difference, the grades are. So, if you like to stay with your family, go for it. Besides, as a TX resident, you have a better chance at TX medical schools and they are much cheaper to attend.
Are you a TX resident?
Are you a junior or a senior?
What are your stats? Would you be competitive for their honors college?
Not sure, but think pre-med is Honors College anyway.
No, premed is just an intention. It’s not even a major. It just means you intend to be top 10% in your first year biology classes, in your first year physics classes, in your first and second year chemistry classes, in English, sociology, and psychology.
Honors college admission is selective.
The honors college at UH is excellent.
