I had a question about transferring to UIUC and the application process. I'm a C.C. student and I am planning on applying in January 2010 for the Fall 2010 semester (right after I get my final grades for the fall semester). I would in fact have 46 graded credit hours at the time of my application with Calc I and 1 semester of Spanish.

Is it REQUIRED for me to submit an ACT score regardless if have 46 credit hours? I understand that it is required if a student has under 30 credit hours but in my case I'll have 46 and was wondering how much of a factor it would be by not submitting an ACT and getting reviewed strictly based on my college transcript?

“Submit your test scores. It’s required that you send us a standardized test score if you have less than 30 graded transferable semester hours of college coursework at the time of application: ACT (code 1154) or SAT 1 (code 1836) scores are accepted. The writing component of the ACT is required if you graduated high school in 2008 or later. It is highly recommended to submit test scores if you have 30-59 graded credit hours.”

Quote from their site. Boldness addded to make it easier.

What is your ACT?

Scored very poor, no preparation and only took it one time in high school, below 23. I am planning to take it again for the second time in September and again shortly after in November. Aiming for that 30!
