So I am currently a Freshman at a private school in New York, but I really do not like the college and I want to transfer to UMD. I am a Maryland resident, with a 3.69 high school GPA, I have 31 College Credits so far ( I spent senior year at a community college in Maryland) and my accumulative GPA at college so far is a mediocre 3.22. I do have all the English 101 and College math requirements fulfilled and I applied by the priority deadline. I am taking another 12 credits this semester as well. Is that good enough to be accepted as a transfer student? Any advice or would be really appreciated!
Do you have a history of Extra Curricular activities? You have 30+ credits, so you are out of the water for submiting high school transcripts and sat scores. But first and for most you have to make sure all of your credits transfer to UMD, some MAY NOT go through because you attend a college ina different state and some MAY go through because you attended community college in Maryland. What community college did you go to in Maryland? Join a club or and organization this semester or volunteer. Your GPA is not going to admit you into UMD neither is the classes you have took or are taking.
I attended Community College Baltimore County, I have done various extra curricular activities such as volunteering at an orphanage and other charitable work. I know all my credits from CCBC will transfer correctly but some of the credits from my current institution may not. Does the fact that some of them may not transfer make my total credits lower than the 31 that I technically have?
