@chasesog just wondering what state do you live in, and what are your other stats- extra curriculars, AP classes, IB classes, leadership positions.
@classof18student from reading on this site from last year the invites came out about 6 days before the admissions decisions did (1/20/17 for invites; 1/26/17 for decisions)
@Mom2NND If the registration is open and the scholarship is open to EA/ED, wouldn’t it be counterintuitive to have the EA’s not know if they got in until after the registration deadline is over, or at least given less time? I’m thinking tomorrow at 6 or even before that decisions go out.
@Mom2NND
-SAT: 1410
-Unweighted GPA: 3.87
-Weighted GPA: 4.62
-State: Maryland
-All IB Classes - IB French 7, IB History 2, IB English Lanuage/Literature 2, IB TOK, IB Biology 2, IB Math Studies (I’m in the IB Program)
-Extracurriculars: Boys Varsity Swim Team Captain, SGA Vice President, National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Minority Scholars Program, Lifeguard/Pool Operator
-Essay: I had psoriasis when I was younger which really affected my childhood because I hid it for four years and kids harassed me a lot because it was all over my body. Eventually I decided to show my parents and they were in awe. They took me to a dermatologist and he changed my life and supported me for so many years to help my condition to go away. He gave me my life back which made me realize I want to do the same thing for other people. It made me want to be a dermatologist because I know what it feels like to feel ugly and have your confidence ripped away from you so I’d love to give that back to others.
Congrats to everyone who got emailed!
I haven’t gotten an invite either, even though I thought my stats were pretty good. 1500 SAT, 34 ACT, 3.92UW, 4.76W, 7 AP’s(two 4’s and three 5’s so far), 9 Dual Enrollment, President’s list at my College, etc…
Hi! Any idea if international students are eligible for these scholarships? I have similar stats as those nominated and was really factoring in a substantial scholarship to supplement my cost of attendance.
@mattd1 I agree with you that it is strange that scholarship weekend invites go out before admissions decisions for EA- seems backwards to me. I was just posting that information about last year bc someone had asked if anyone knew how the timing was last year. I hope you are correct and today is the day, I guess we will have to wait it out…
@chasesog congratulations! Sounds like you have an excellent essay along with great stats
I’m confused. Those who got the invites for the scholarship weekends have obviously been accepted. What difference does it make when they notify the other EAs of their decisions?
if I applied to the business school- can i get into the regular school and not the business or if i don’t get into the business school am i also denied from main campus
