Schools certainly release decisions over the weekend. In fact, Georgia Tech released its early actions decisions last Saturday afternoon.
@abcollege12 I did - they said they’d release them at the end of the month but won’t say a date
Penn state is completely different in that they do rolling admissions. It isn’t comparable to the mass decisions Miami will do. @anxiousmom12
@hogglogg Have your friend’s parents said anything else about decisions being today?
I knew I wasn’t going to get any need based aid so I didn’t fill out FAFSA. I know at certain schools you need to fill out FAFSA for merit scholarships anyways, but can someone confirm that at Miami for a Merit based scholarship there was no need to fill out FAFSA?
any chance of results coming out today?
it 100% wont come out on a weekend. never has
Yeah, it’s either going to be today or next week. Not over the weekend.
I’d place my money on the 25th - every time I’ve contacted them they’ve emphasized the END of the month
@jackd341 in the campus visit session there was slide saying No CSS Profile equals No merit or need-based aid of any kind
thanks for the reply @camcam2022 turns out I just had to do a little research. For anyone curious about my questions heres the answer on UM’s website: UM awards merit-based scholarships to incoming undergraduate students based on their academic achievements regardless of their citizenship. The criteria for awarding scholarships are based on a comprehensive review of the applicant pool each year. There is no separate application required—applicants are automatically considered for an academic scholarship when they apply for admission to UM.
@jackd341 this is correct but also most complete the CSS profile
@camcam2022 by when? I have a friend who did not fill it out and still got a merit scholarship. Was this something that was supposed to be completed before we submitted application, or we get the award without completing it, but to access it we have to fill it out by the time we make our deposit?
i heard it comes out the 29th
doesnt it say by January 20th on the website for early action??
@camcam2022 We thought we’re eligible for merit aid without filling out the CSS profile based upon our reading of this page from the U’s website:

@jackd341 I think you are correct. It says all students eligible for merit but if you want consideration for need based aid, you have to fill out the FAFSA and CSS.

Any chance the decisions are coming out today? Many websites, not associated with UM directly, say that the EA decision date is before January 20th.
@chrys1 nothing yet. It could come out later around 4 or 5, but ED came out at 315 on the day theirs were announced, so I’m starting to think todays not the day
