@EDHAD Other universities have done similar things to encourage turnovers - belts, shoulder pads, dunking footballs in trash cans - but nobody has ever done it with as much swagger as the []_[] with the turnover chain. Yes, it’s tacky and hideous, but people LOVED it and it is so Miami! I thought it was actually pretty hilarious.
By the way, not only is it solid gold (I think 10k) but those are real sapphires on it, lol!
Not gonna lie it’s pretty awesome - turnover chain themed song along with the video
From Reddit: The chain is reportedly made of 10 karat gold and 900 sapphire stones and weighs in at 5.5 pounds.
With 10 karat gold currently trading around $532/oz, 5.5lbs of 10 karat gold comes out to roughly $47,000. Obviously some of the weight is made up of the emblem and the stones, so for the sake of the argument let’s say that if the chain itself is solid gold the price is between $40,000 and $50,000.
I think it wont be the Thursday (1) or Friday (2nd) of Feb. Because, if they released that Monday-Wed its still January, and they wouldn’t need to change to Feb. So, the change to Feb was most likely not to buy 1-2 extra days, but rather an extra week or 2. I think it’s safe to expect it not to come out until the 5th, but hey, its all just a guess.
Curious @cwj2000 since you said on another post that you had applied and been accepted ED to Tulane shouldn’t you have let Miami know and not still have an active app with them?
