University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

not sure…but michigan definitely wants a high yield rate. For my school, the yield was fairly decent two years and three years ago so they accepted 7/14 last year even though some of them did not even take hon. trig pre cal. Wonder what’s gonna happen this year lol…

i would be surprised if you don’t get into a school better than michigan

Ah the horror of being overqualified…

You’ll be fine.

@Ley438 Deferred from NU over here lol. Brother goes to Umich and loves it! Could easily see myself going to Umich and loving it as well! Good luck to everyone tomorrow(if it comes out)

@CBHS18 i now kinda feel bad for michigan. it’s like everyone’s top back up school…

Michigan has been my dream school forever :frowning:

@dan’s toothpick Is that really a bad thing? l mean just looking through this thread there are a lot of people that applied to some really tough schools. I’m sure a lot of those kids are really well qualified, meaning Michigan has and will continue to pick up a ton of great applicants. And honestly, being a number two choice out of the hundreds/thousands of schools out there isn’t that bad

Deferred from ND and at this point, I don’t think I will get into Umich either.

@Dan’s Toothpick Don’t feel bad for Michigan–their admissions team know how to sniff out the applicants who are applying as back-ups. They find the applicants who truly have Michigan as a top choice–they can tell from the essays, demonstrated interest and legacy the candidates who will likely attend if admitted and boost their yield. Don’t be surprised if applicants with lower stats get in during EA and higher stat applicants get deferred. It happens every year.

@CBHS18 haha true, not all of us can get into our ed school anyway.
really looking forward to michigan’s decision!

anyone applying the dual degree with Ross and engineering?

I am applying and hoping for admittance after a rough 2 days. I was rejected from ND and deferred by Boston College. I have a 33 ACT, 3.89 UW, 4.06 WGPA. I have been in student congress for four years ( treasurer this year), NHS, Varsity golf (captain) and varsity tennis. My sister is there now, both of my parents are alumni, and I am instate. We shall see!

@Dan’s Toothpick I am! Chem Engin BS & Ross BBA but I’m trying to do combine the programs into a MBS/MBA within seven years.

Can anyone tell me how does Umich view application like me:
I moved from Taiwan to California three years ago (when I was freshmen) and I never have any english education before I moved to CA. Currently a senior right now, apply UMich for early action and UMich is my dream of the dream school!!!
It’s obviously that my grades at the beginning is not good at all (I can’t even speak or read english properly back then)… however, if i have a good EC’s as well as really good essay is that going to help?

anyone else having issues with wolverine access this morning? it says the system is unavailable right now…

yeah it’s always down at this hour. Routine maintenance or something

Or Wolverine Access being down could mean something else today

What are the odds they accept me to the engineering school? People tell me they think I’ll get in, but then again, these people are friends and family that want to see me get in almost as much as I do myself.

4.72 WPGA
4.00 GPA
33 ACT
IB Diploma
Varsity Cross, Country, Indoor Track, and Lacrosse for four years each, except lacrosse, which is my last 3 years only b/c I was jv freshmen year
Father and grandfather are both alums, my grandfather is a donor.
Also worked for a summer at NIH as part of a competitive paid internship
My essays are pretty good overall, I know the CA essay is stellar and the why mich essay is also really good, but the others may be a bit less in quality.

I’m curious what is the breakdown of Michigan EA? What percentage gets deferred?
