University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

@DukeDreams from https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2082/~/how-will-i-be-notified-of-my-admission-decision%3F

"ALL admissions decisions will be sent via email with the subject line “Your University of Michigan Admissions Decision.”

“There are three possible decisions an applicant may receive: admit, defer, or deny. All decisions will be viewable on a link labeled “View Decision” on the application status link of your New & Prospective Student Portal. Defer means your application requires additional consideration.”

So yeah both.

I got a “happy holidays” message, but that doesn’t mean anything.

Question-- how long in advanced do they annouce that the decisions will start to be announced? The day of in the morning, or 2-3 days before? Please answer I am anxious!

@Cmfe123 Some years they’ve mentioned something along the lines of “don’t expect anything by the end of this week”. Usually, they don’t preface it with an announcement at all. They just kind of drop it on you (judging from what I’ve seen on social media)

Good luck everyone!

@Ochillith I agree. Although sometimes I feel like it’s weirdly therapeutic and it helps me be less nervous about college apps when I have to think about my achievements. Like I don’t even expect responses, It just makes me feel like I’m trying hard in the long run, and that If I get rejected at least it means I did everything I could towards my own college efforts. I might be the only one who feels this way, but that’s just my really weird two cents on this topic lol.

@semicolon If that doesn’t demonstrate interest than I don’t know what does

@MntClimber You better get into this school with that kind of creativity. That was amazing.

Repost:

I just realized an issue with my ACT score reports-I took it three times, yet somehow forgot to submit my highest score report, and only sent the other 2. I know the scores are also self-reported on the common app, but is this a major problem?

I just rushed my highest to Michigan, and plan to call them tomorrow (even though decisions come out tomorrow)

Sorry, is there any credible source that the decisions will come out tomorrow?

@LorentzT nope

Didn’t they send out decisions last year on Christmas Eve (the 24th)?A lot of people are saying that’s not possible because the offices are going to be closed but can’t it be just an automated system on a timer??

@goldenlabrador Last year, everyone I knew who applied at my school received their decision on Wednesday, December 21st. The pattern has been for them to leave a few business days between releasing decisions and break and that wouldn’t hold up if they were released on the 24th

Oh ok, thanks @groovy_carlito

Same questions over and over. I’ll repost again.

I’d count on decisions today guys. And if not today, definitely Thursday. They wouldn’t release decisions the day before they are released for Christmas Break. I can assure you they will have many phone calls and emails to respond to. Good luck to everyone, very exciting!

does anybody know approximately what time of the day do the decisions come out?

I am really freaking out. I was turned down by my ED and deferred by CWRU this morning. Totally worried I have no any offer by this year since my other two EA (UV &UW) come out next year…

@davy901 People have been saying 3 pm (not sure it is eastern time?)

In the past, you received an email that read, “your University of Michigan admissions decision”. For accepted students, it read “CONGRATULATIONS [Name]–You’re In!” A few hours later the portal was updated with our FA decision. I don’t recall receiving an earlier email telling us when decisions would be announced.

I just checked our email, the decision was sent out on 19 December, but that was two years ago.
