Exactly the same here! Can’t focus on work AND our girl will be 3rd generation if admitted. She applied to STAMPS. and LSA dual. Good luck everyone! All of you young people are amazing. The college application process is 1,000 times more difficult than is was for me (aka when dinosaurs went to university).

Is anyone else amused by this whole college application/acceptance process? I’m waiting like everyone else, but I really am not stressing over it. I only did two EA apps, one of which I was accepted. After UMich, I have approx. twenty RD apps to go - three of which are not even submitted yet. There’s no way I’m going to let this one, or any of them, stress me out. I’d be a total wreck by the end of this process if I did.
day 50. morale grows weak. we have been waiting for so long. the admissions office continues to decieve us, and our scouts’ fingers ache from excessively dialing their number. we’ve lost so many men to the #goblue tag on twitter. they said they were just checking to see if anyone’s posted… but they have yet to come back. and the sound, god the sound… it ever stops… echoing in my ears, drowning out the screeching whir of my laptop fan as it struggles to cool down after 348 consecutive hours of being powered on so that i can refresh my inbox every .24 seconds. but it’s nothing compared to that sound. that awful wailing. my ears ache with it.

but what does it mean? i’m so tired now. not even the scholars of the 99th SAT percentile rank have been able to decode such a deeply encrypted message. my eyes burn even now as i stare grimly at my portal page. portal… portal to what? can’t be to hell. i’m already there, been serving my time since the college fair last year… the refresh button has worn down to the bone, and the flickering light of my laptop has begun to dim. i’m not sure how much longer we can take this. we’re running out of time, out of sanity. every second i close my eyes, i see them… the bees… i hear their little wings, beating against their round, striped bodies…
can you hear them at the door? the buzzing is so loud now… i think i’ll go say hello…
@KES2022 20 applications? There are really 20 universities you want to attend, or did you apply to every Ivy in the hope of getting into one? I’ve known students who have done that and it often just results in a string of rejections.
@sw9910 Do you have a guesstimate for the cutoff for an OOS student?
I don’t know why I am stressing so much, I really do think it’s the waiting and just being so unsure. It’s not like if we don’t get into UMich there’s no other college options for us.

@elzbth I’m sorry but you are continually posting incorrect information. Earlier you stated that OOS places were being capped, which isn’t true. Now you state that being an OOS student is a “major setback,” ignoring the fact that more than 40% of admitted students are from OOS.
Yes, admissions is more competitive for OOS students but OOS students also tend to have high stats. Michigan also is one of the few public universities that meets the full financial need of low income OOS students, and is improving dramatically its overall FA program. It really isn’t helpful to post hearsay or speculation.
