@purplepeep1 It’s to the right of “View Credentials.” If it’s just “View Application Data” and “View Credentials,” it may be coming soon.

Deferred OOS

34 ACT

There is a link on application page “View Decision”

here is the text what I see for my son

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review. An official communication will be sent to your email address on file.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2018.

deferred 1490 SAT 3.95 UW GPA OOS from Oregon

Regarding twins- I am no expert on the twin policies at various schools, but a 2008 NY Times article (“Is There a Better Half?”) quoted a Duke admissions official as saying “If the applications are consistent, we like to have a compelling reason to make a different decision.” He gave as an example of a compelling reason-one twin applying ED and the other applying regular decision. He also discussed the experience (while at a different school) of being called by a parent of twins after making a different decision for two twins- and the parent argued that the twins were very similar and should have gotten the same result. I think he took away from that call that fine (and potentially inaccurate) distinctions are more obvious with twin applications.
