University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

General consensus on this thread is that they will come out Friday December 15, keeping in line with a (sometimes) tradition of releasing on Friday. Although last year they were out on a Tuesday so… Anyone outside the admissions office can’t know for sure, except before December 24

has anyone got word from reps as to when they’ll release decisions? I’ve heard a million different dates.

HAIL interviewer just emailed me with the last day for interviews being Sunday. I am extremely busy this weekend and have exams the coming week. What should I do?

@billbobby54 Go! You’ve been given an opportunity others only dream of! If U of M is really your first choice or dream school, don’t let any thing or any excuse stand in your way. Make it happen.

Hail to the Victors

“General consensus on this thread is that they will come out Friday December 15…”

Have decisions ever been released as early as the 15th? It seems more likely that it would be some time the week of the 18th-22nd, since the 22nd is the Friday before Christmas, they have given themselves until the 24th officially, and last year they I think they were released on the 21st which was a Wednesday. (I saw some reference to them being released on the 20th last year, but the only information I could find here or elsewhere referred to them actually going out on the 21st).

So it seems most likely that they would go out between the 20th and 22nd.

When Michigan sent me an email qualifying me for EA, they said decisions will be released before Dec 24th

Does Michigan assess you for CoE (first year engineering) or for your area of interest in a major specifically?

I HIGHLY doubt Michigan will send decisions on December 24th. UM has a long history of sending decisions via email in clusters on Fridays, and most of their offices are closing the 22nd at 3pm. I am 99% sure decisions will be emailed mid-day on Friday, the 22nd.

Daughter #1, a Spring 2017 Ross grad, was notified on Friday, December 14, 2012. My fingers are crossed for daughter #2 (early action qualified 2022).

Last year decisions were release on Wednesday 12/21 at 3 pm. So we will see…

If you get an email saying that you’ll get preferred admission to one of the other schools (such as education or dentistry) for junior year, I’m assuming that’s a good sign for being admitted?

I got an email from School of Ed about my pre-admit today! Did you? They may just send an email to everyone to keep interest

Doesn’t Michigan usually announce on one of their social medias updates about when admissions will be out? I remember from reading last years thread that (I believe it was Twitter) their Twitter sent out tweets about how the admissions were being delayed, hence why they came out on Tuesday/Wednesday. Has anyone heard anything from them? If not maybe they’re actually on schedule this year for the 15th???

From the Michigan Admissions Twitter Feed:

“EA applicants will receive a decision by Dec. 24. We will have no other info to share about the exact date or our process for releasing decisions. Thanks, and Go Blue!”

@GoBlue172000 yeah that’s what I was talking about! A friend of mine did so I was curious

hey guys
just got rejected from cornell early decision
joining the michigan early action family now lol

rejected by cornell…came here too lol

if i am rejected by umich agian, which means that i get two rejection this month, i dont know how i am going to write my RD essays

I have a 28 ACT, does that completely knock me out from the running if I excel in all other aspects including GPA, very strong essay and supplements, extracurriculars, minority (only person in my community of such origin), recommendations, and demonstrated interest (Representative knows me quite well now), and a connection from a family friend who is of high position to the president of the university?

@ggirl2288 absolutely not! Umich is famous for letting in students with a great “holistic” (they love that word) outlook, even with one aspect not quite on par. Your odds are just fine
