University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

@dannyphantom1 me too, I’m also an international student

No decision yet but my son’s portal says the same thing, “Recent Grades Prior to Mid-Feb - Notified” No link for View Decision. I’m also guessing a deferral.

Really hoping it is not a deferral but might be because it said that sometimes for deferrals the status does not update but the email does say it is one. However since many people who did not get a decision yet got this maybe it can be that some are acceptances because how can the rest of the batch just be deferrals

Honestly I’d say don’t put too much stock into the whole “Recent grades thing”. Yes it sounds like a deferral, but i know a lot of people who haven’t heard back yet and ALL OF THEM have the same thing down, and i have a hard time believing they’ll all be rejected. Some of them are very strong candidates. Some people my sister’s year (2014) didn’t hear back until 9 when she heard back at 3. Just wait and see what happens, I wouldn’t be suprised at all if it meant literally nothing

This is quite distressing. The only flaw of my application was that my ACT was 33 - other than that, it’s quite literally perfect where it can be, such as my perfect 4.0 taking IB Diploma, and as good as it can possibly be elsewhere (like my essays). Yet I was deferred.

Michigan is my number one. I really hope my stats being “too high” isn’t the reason that I was deferred. I’d be furious. Otherwise, I’m disappointed, but it is what it is.

Do many deferral EA students get admitted in the end, or is it mostly just “wait an extra 4 months for the actual denial” sort of thing?

I just called the admissions office and they said that no one gets rejected through EA…

Out of 3 posts, you have two contradictory contents.

Has anyone not gotten a decision yet? My friend and I are still waiting. Did only acceptances and deferrals go out today?

anyone get accepted to LSA Residential College? I got accepted, but i’m not sure if I’m going to Umich yet… got deferred from Brown about a week ago, so it depends on my other Regular Decisions and ED2. Just looking for other Residential College students

@sophs17 It is probably half way thru. More are coming in the next couple hours and next couple days.

Although all deferred applicants will receive an admission notification via email, not all will be able to view their application status via Web Application Status on Wolverine Access. If you have any questions, we encourage you to call the. Does this mean anything @Michiganplz18

Where did you see that? @dannyphantom1 based on that, i’d guess it means we got deferred :stuck_out_tongue:

ACCEPTED LSA OOS
ACT 34
GPA 3.8 UW
Eagle scout, captain of track, president of NHS, and other EC’s

This has been my dream school my entire life, I am so happy! Congrats to those who got in and good luck to everyone still waiting to here!

@dannyphantom1 I didn’t get any email, but I got the deferral spiel on my Wolverine Access page. So that’s not necessarily true.

https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2082 @Michiganplz18 check out the end. Can we just ignore this because it is making me depressed I hope it’s like something else idk.

@“MathsAre(Not)Fun” I know it not true in every case I just posted what it said on their website to make some sense of those mid year grades they want

Ok well i’m sure it means something, however people are also hearing at all different times. Let’s just wait and see, however i wouldn’t say it looks too good right now. I’m still fairly confident even if i get deferred to be fair @dannyphantom1

Deferred In-State COE
34 ACT, 4.29WGPA, 4.0UWGPA
IB School

Should I consider writing a LOCI?

also if the other people who are deferred don’t have that same message/notification thing, it doesn’t = deferral. Surely they would have had that too if that’s what it meant

@MathsAre(Not)Fun Your stat is not too high. Indeed, no one is in the eye of UMich. Your ACT is around admission average. Around 20% of enrolled freshmen has GPA 4.0 in high school.
