I really hope they don’t reject a deferred without seeing their mid year grades, as said in the deferral letter. Our school won’t send it until sometime next week.
No one knows for sure, but some of the first wave of accepted students started to see their “decision tabs” disappear AFTER 5:00 PM EST. The disappearing “decision tab” is considered a good sign.
i truly hope the midyear grades don’t count against you until after mid feb because my school doesn’t send them until feb 15 at the earliest … even though our semester ended already
@sushiritto for those who don’t yet have “decision tabs” what are the other tea leaves they should be looking for?
@JBStillFlying Did you apply RD? I should have clarified that only deferred EA students would have had a view decision tab in the first place. If you applied EA and were deferred and don’t have a “view decision” tab, then I don’t know. Maybe someone else can fill both of us in.
Looking at the results from those previously deferred students in prior years, there is/was a fairly clear correlation between the disappearance of the “view decision” in late January, followed by an acceptance soon after, in this case hopefully Friday 2/1. Of course, the pattern may have been changed by UMich and I’m completely wrong. No promises.
Edit: @JBStillFlying I’m assuming you’re here, because you were deferred, but I just wanted to make sure you were a deferred EA.
@finn1313
I also submitted my LOCI by mail and didn’t receive an email of confirmation. I was worried they didn’t get it so I sent an email to my regional counselor with a copy of it. She said they do not typically send confirmations, but I don’t think that it hurt to send one, considering it shows you are on top of things. It’s your decision, but I think it’s a good idea!
@finn1313 if you sent an email to your regional counselor with a copy of the LOCI, to whom did you originally send the LOCI? I thought they are supposed to be sent to the regional rep/counselor?
@sushiritto - whoops - my bad - didn’t notice which thread this was LOL. My DC applied RD so that must explain the lack of decision tab. Thanks for clarifying that.
How far ahead of decisions going have people typically seen the vanishing decisions tab in the past?
(ie - days, hours, etc.)
From my memory it gets removed and replaced when grades are updated and the day of the decisions. It was like everyone’s tab disappeared then like 10 minutes later the results were changed. This site will explode with everyone asking if their tabs were changed is the first clue.
i’ve seen like 2 people on social media today that have posted that they got in… are they releasing some decisions today/did they? and were they deferred people or regular applicants…?
Need opinions. D’s deferral letter, as many others, said
D had a tough 1st semester, for a number of reasons. Her 1st semester grades came out last week, but they are, umm, not strong. Mostly B+, one A-, one C+. Would you send them?
@projectmgr My recollection is that the decision tab might disappear minutes before a decision being released, and then up to a week +/-. Here’s my speculation, UMich may enter decisions in batches over a week’s time, again +/-. So decision tabs disappear for some, not others, over X period of time. And then, voila! A batch of decision tabs reappear.
I still have my decision tab. I am EA deferred candidate. Does that mean I won’t get my results by Friday?
To my knowledge, no deferred EA applicant has reported their decision tab disappearing here. You’re still in the hunt for Friday, assuming UMich decides that’s actually the day for the first wave of RD acceptances. They can decide otherwise.
Any thoughts on a delay due to severe weather/cold this week? UMich is still open with no announced plans to close, correct?
@JBStillFlying Apparently the students think it should close:
@ckd022 - windchills predicted to hit -35 tomorrow and/or Thurs. but back in positive territory by Friday. Right now a balmy +10 but -15 real feel. Nippy!
@JBStillFlying Definitely nippy!
By any chance we will receive both decision (And Ross) on this Friday? Thanks
