@sushiritto No, it’s true. I saw the announcement on the U of M app. Apparently an email went out to students and staff.

Yep, it’s finally posted to the UM DPSS Twitter account.
I never at any point got my decision tab strange enough, although have gotten the email asking for mid semester grades deferring me.
Do you think I still have a chance at getting a decision Friday/Saturday even though my first semester grades have not been sent in yet? Exams have been postponed a week and a half due to snow days/cold days. I got the “good” deferral letter that stated the admissions office had everything they needed already to make a final decision if that makes any difference.
I have noticed some EA deferred students received a letter requesting first semester grades. My son’s letter said they have everything they need and no additional documents are required at this time. I can’t tell if that is good or bad. Any ideas??
There is no such thing as a good /bad deferral letter. People from both types of deferral letters get accepted and rejected. It means little. If they say don’t send anything then don’t and just wait. No one knows what type of students they will admit on Friday.
Would weather delay decisions?
Nope… But maybe they will have sometime to get through more of them… I am an optimist.
The…Waiting…Is…KILLING ME!!!
But, it is good to know I am not the only one nervously waiting! (:
@memelover123 I’ll take a wild stab at your question. Admissions is considered “essential services,” like the dining halls, so in my uninformed (dumb) opinion, Friday is still the day.
All someone has to do is push a button on the computer. You can do that remotely these days… Lol… Friday is still the day…
northeastern delayed EA decisions by one day when boston was hit with snow and freezing temps earlier this month … we never know but i doubt it because they would have to move it to another business week
Do we think that because there were so many applicants they will not be doing an early release?
Does anyone know how many of the decisions will come out Friday? Is there an average number based on previous years? Also, is it common for someone who applied RD to get their decision earlier than someone who applied EA? At my HS four of us applied EA and were deferred, while two others applied RD. It’s not looking good for my school, as other people in my county were accepted in December.
There is nothing you can do about it so don’t worry
Kids get in with lower first semester grades but any school wants proof that you can handle their rigor. So handling your classes would be the first step. Michigan is very hard.
does getting the hail scholarship increase your chance?
My first semester grades dropped because I was dealing with a lot of personal stuff and going through a really hard time. I wrote about it in my personal statement and I know my college counselor talked about it too in her letter so I’m hoping they’ll take that into consideration when they see my first semester grades. I’m still really nervous because I tried so hard but there was just a lot going on at home and it affected my performance at school. I’m still hopeful though!
My son’s school already sent the midyear report, but it still hasn’t shown up on the portal, has anyone seen their report being uploaded?
