I understand. My son’s at Michigan in engineering. It’s a great school and experience. We also like Georgia Tech.
So no new set of acceptances from Friday? Likely March 1 but possibly Feb 15? My OOS child waiting to hear still. Submitted in the early period before Oct 15, but even with 1520 SAT and 3.6 gpa has not heard from CoE.
when do the denied decisions typically come out?

@WaterpoloGod23 When’d you hear?
Typically, UMich begins to waitlist and reject RD/EA Deferred applicants with the wave arriving on or about Friday 3/29.
@WaterpoloGod23 congratulations! When did you hear back, and to what school/ major were you accepted?
@sushiritto is the 3/29 release wave typically only waitlists and rejections or are there still a fair number of acceptances mixed in?
@cdr2001 For the Class of 2022, the March 30, 2018 release was ROUGHLY as follows here on CC:
17 Accepted or 21%
35 Waitlisted or 43%
30 Rejected or 37%
Total 3/30/18 Wave = 82 students (approx.)
Yes, that’s 101%. I rounded.
hey! i was deferred from umich lsa and also applied preferred admission to ross. i was wondering if anyone has any information about the waves of acceptances/ when i should be expecting a response? thanks!
@mrekutin Most likely the next wave is going to be early March. However, there have been rumors that a wave will come February 15th.
@mrekutin you need to get in to LSA before they send ur app to Ross. Ross has already accepted students and supposedly accepts in waves on Fridays. Next wave of acceptances for LSA likely March 1. The longer it takes to get accepted to LSA it seems like the chances of getting into Ross dissipate with each wave of Ross acceptances as they fill the Ross class.
Hi! I’ve been watching this thread for a while and I finally decided to make an account because I had a question. I checked my WA today, and my required material notification for my first semester grades went from “second notification” to “waived.” Did this happen to anyone else? What does it mean?
Thank you for the insights! Do you happen to know the percentages/numbers of acceptances for the March 1 decision release last year?
@BizBoundMama The 3/02/18 release did not contain any rejected or waitlisted students, at least not a one was posted here on CC. With the caveat, “to the best of my recollection.”
Where do you check if the 1st semester grades were sent? Is that listed under credentials? Asking bc idk if my counselor sent my grades yet and i’m hoping they didn’t since they need to be updated still.
EDIT: are you talking about the flag in the top right corner? I don’t see any notifications in mine but before I click on it there is a minus sign. Weird
I got a request for a HAIL interview. Does it mean anything?
My son just got that request too after being told they had too many requests back in the fall. Also wondering if it means anything.
How do you see that request?
@therealnemis @abbeany I had a HAIL interview earlier this year. The only point of the interview is to get students more interested in umich. Overall, it’s a really casual interview that really doesn’t affect the admission process. Don’t get stressed over it.
