Hello! I’ve been following this thread from the beginning, as I was deferred EA too, but I’ve been trying to keep an eye out on Kinesiology bc no one seems to be posting about it. Just curious because Ross announced their decision release days and LSA seems to have released a bunch, but nothing from Kines.
I’m OOS (nyc) and though I have high grades and (what I believe to be) good essays, I don’t think I’ll be accepted
Hi, can I ask how I can check the portal. I don’t have a Umich ID
@nygfootball21 I was deferred Kinesiology from NY too… hoping we hear something good tonight
@Knowsstuff I know exactly what you mean. Go Blue!
I really needed there to be a wave of acceptances tonight. Deferred from LSA and I don’t think I can take the wait much longer.
@lcnova3 I agree, but my boyfriend (a sophomore at UM) keeps telling me to stop stressing because there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ve put my all in to doing my best in high school to get to this point and I should be proud of myself for that. I think whatever happens everyone will end up where they’re supposed to. (It may seem really important now, but it’s more what you accomplish at college than what university it is)
To conclude, let’s all be proud of ourselves! Lol
@letsgoblue1234 You have a very smart boyfriend. All hopefuls would do well to heed his advice. Good luck to all!
Did anyone hear anything?
@cdr2001 Pro tip :if you don’t see traffic on here assume no.
I thought I’d pass along the following student breakdown for the Class of 2022, which I found amongst all the junk lying around the house:
LSA 4,163
Engineering 1,363
Ross 447
MTD 200
Kinesiology 166
Stamps 155
Nursing 136
Taubman 34
Total = 6,664
Some students keep asking about Kinesiology acceptances, well, I guess I know why you see so few of them amongst all the posts here. 166 ain’t much.
Top 10 Breakdown by State:
- Michigan 3,490
- New York 520
- Illinois 393
- The Great State of California :D 368
- New Jersey 307
- Florida 137
- Pennsylvania 101
- Massachusetts 90
- Maryland 89
- Connecticut 86
Uh, 9 students from Hawaii? Talk about “climate change.” #-o
How many from MN?
@sushiritto thanks for the breakdown
This is the amount enrolled correct? Any chance of estimating the percentage of acceptances to enrollment?
https://admissions.umich.edu/apply/freshmen-applicants/student-profile
Aren’t these the numbers or am I missing something?
@Knowsstuff to clarify I was asking in regards to how many acceptances per school vs enrolled not total
As @sushiritto mentioned Kin 166 but wondering how many acceptances vs enrolled
Oops, I forgot the State of Ohio, the state down South. My apologies for the omission. So here’s the top 11.
Top 11 Breakdown by State (REVISED):

@JBStillFlying MN has 36 students in the Class of 2022.
@Knowsstuff My information is from a pamphlet that UM gave out during the orientation last July. There’s a difference of 21 students (6,664 vs. 6,685). Maybe there were some LATE acceptances after the publication of the pamphlet. Of course, the map on the webpage is for ALL undergraduates, not just for the Class of 2022, which the pamphlet details.
@mom3boyz Yes, enrolled, that’s correct. The overall yield is 43%, but that % doesn’t address the number of acceptances by school unfortunately.
@TwoHearted Agree. My son is in Michigan, UVA and Ga Tech (instate) and a few safety schools. Waiting on Duke, Rice and Northwestern. Deferred from MIT. Ga Tech is the likely choice - thanks to the lottery tuition is free and he wants to be an engineer. He still wants to see about the others though and is waiting on getting the financial stuff in. Until that stuff comes he will not officially commit.
When will any updates come out?
@UVAmom23 congratulations to your son. But with free tuition to one of the best engineering programs in the country… Where is the decision? … Financially he is at the best place.
@Knowsstuff I agree. Plus it checks lots of the boxes he had going in. No small school. No small town. He loved it when we toured. He just wants to see how it all plays out and I don’t blame him. He spent a couple of weeks at Michigan last summer and loved it too.
