@billcsho You are correct… I was just trying to set the timeline right.
@billcsho when it gets to this kind of rolling process, is it the strongest candidates that hear first or is it just whoever they happen to get to first? I’m just wondering if you don’t hear about your acceptance until late March, are you one of the weaker candidates?
@billcsho are the bulk of admissions in February or March?
@Whitman6838 For your first question, the first batch of RD did not include all RD application as decisions were made when more applications are coming in. Even for the later rounds, they would not wait till all applications were all reviewed before making decisions. So the strongest candidate may or may not admitted earlier. Also, the admission is holistic, so it may be not the strongest in terms of stat anyway. Many of the applicants at the borderline for admission (in their criteria) may be admitted in the later rounds. However, it does not mean all admitted in the last round are the weaker ones.
@EthanAz1 There are usually two peaks, one in early to mid Feb and one around early to mid March. Each round would have multiple releases on different days. Again, with the larger and larger applicant pool, they may need to break it down further. Anyway, it is rolling and they have to finish the job by early April.
Did anyone call admissions to get more info on release?
@billcsho Would you consider the 2/2 decisions a peak?
Imagine if 1 % of the applicants called, there will be over 700 calls today. No wonder they cannot release the admission notice as they are busy in picking up the phone.
@2boys There is no official data, but an after math from the reports in the forum in the past. It is like asking me if the stock market has reached the peak for the year yet. Nevertheless, the number of admission on 2/2 was very significant when compare to EA based on the reports here. If current estimate is around 40% from EA and 60% from ED, you may use the number of admission reported in the forum as a guesstimate of the admission progress for now. I think it is still only at around 50% of the admission goal including EA so far.
has anyone called or is everyone just asking if other people called? I’m in school can’t do it right now. would really appreciate getting some useful info right now.
Does the decision tab disappearing mean anything? Mine’s still there and I’m freaking out.
@jchoibokchoi same, still here, freaking out.
@jchoibokchoi same. some of my friends lost their’s. I am actually going insane right now.
Same questions over and over again… Can people please read at least a few pages of the thread before asking questions? The question above is clearly answered in post #1079 (just the previous page) - unless you all want a different answer.
k then
If I star 67, will they still know who I am?
@billybobby54 Now, I’m not saying that everyone should call the admissions office. But, even if they identify, do you really think they will reject your application because you were eager and called? I seriously doubt that. They are so busy that they probably can’t even worry about who’s calling. Now, I read an article recently from an admissions team that if one is rude, then they make it a point to find out who the student is. Other than that, I think it should be fine *67 or not.
Having said that, the method for not sending “caller ID” differs from one device / carrier to another. On the iPhone, you can simply go to settings->phone->show caller ID and turn that off. You can always call another number near you to see if the caller ID shows up.
eh I won’t do it
There is really no need, and no point, to call them. The one who answers the phone may not have the answer either. In the past, the admission office has responded to the same question on social media saying no admission that day just a few hours before a big batch was released.
Just be on the look out because you may never know. They could possibly still release decisions at any time. For anyone who does get something, please let us know.
Man!!! That icon had me… I thought someone official from the school made that post
