University of Michigan EA class of 2020 thread

@crownvic What are you going to do then? I’m stuck in this situation.

@Salutation I’m going to submit today, then see what happens. I have emailed my admissions counselor and warned her. This is the response I got:

In order to be considered for Early Action, we will need your ACT plus writing result by November 1st. We cannot make your file complete for evaluation until we have an ACT with writing or SAT 1 score. If you have an earlier score (either from SAT or ACT plus writing), then you should submit those results in order to complete your file, and your recent scores can be sent when you receive the full result.

I suggest that you apply as well. Its EA in any case so…

Request again now. ACT will do the data dump tonight.

Finally finished! That’s a breath of fresh air…

Question on decisions: If you apply after the Nov. 1st deadline (let’s say Nov 6th)…that means you’re a regular applicant…but does this mean you will hear a decision only after EA students do? Being a regular applicant just means that you don’t have a guaranteed decision date, right? But does that mean EA students are the only ones evaluated from now until-December?

What time is the U mich app due for those in pacific time zone? is it still 11:59 PM?

Wolverine Access is a hot mess. I encourage the class of 2020 to get James Earl Jones to voice a telephone-based enrollment system. He politely declined the years I was there, but persistence is key.

I’m not even able to login to wolverine access

Anyone…I just send in my act scores yesterday (10/30), and I submitted my app today (i know it’s super late lol), can I still be considered as an EA applicant? If not, then I guess I will be in the Regular Decision pool.

its still not nov 1

After we submit, do we get an email giving us info about Wolverine Access and when?

Are there even any uniqnames left? :stuck_out_tongue:

Finally submitted my app an hour ago. Now the waiting game begins.

Submitted. A few questions though…
Does UMich superscore the SAT?
My teacher submitted my recs via Naviance (from there it’s autoupload to CA for those who don’t know how Naviance works), but CA shows it as not there? Is it just a glitch/the server lagging to update? Will I be ok?
When do we get our confirmation emails and UMich IDs?

You guys all should be receiving UMID’s after a week from when you submitted the common app.

Hello guys, U of M applicant here! I submitted my application a few weeks ago, but I came down here to wish all of you guys good luck. Know that your decision will not define who you are.

@basedchem No, UMich does not superscore the SAT. As for your transcript, it may still be processing. I don’t use Naviance, however, so I am not totally sure. Perhaps you should contact your teacher again to make sure that he or she submitted the recs correctly.

@azwu331 Naviance says that her recs are “complete” so I’m just going to assume that she’s done and that CA is just taking a long time to load…

And yeah, everything else (transcripts, etc) were sent and received earlier this week.

Can I get my chances for EA?

I am in state at a small rural high school.
GPA: UW 3.8, W 4.1
APs: will have taken 5 out of 10 offered (World History: 3, Spanish: 2, Language & Comp: 3, Lit & Comp: TBD, Bio: did not take exam)
ACT: 31 is my highest with a writing score of 9
Activities: varsity cheer 9th, 10, 12 grade (state finalists), thespian society president (VP junior year), color guard captain junior & senior year, NHS vice president, Police Athletic League Leadership team (camp counselor in training 9-11th grade, counselor 12th, historian 2015-16), chorale (advanced choir) 10-12 grade, youth football league cheer coach, Focus HOPE (photography & diversity program in Detroit), HOSA 12th grade, National Society of High School Scholars, been in 17 theatre productions
Essays: I feel my essays were strong. UM has always been my dream school, so I displayed my passion in all three.
Recs: did not read counselor rec, but I am pretty close with her, so I feel confident it is a good depiction of me as a student, as I challenge myself a lot.

I also attended a student shadowing event, so I mentioned that in an essay. I don’t know if that matters.

Thanks!

All done and sent (finally!) Applying as a Ross preferred, so well see. Does apply as engineering hurt chances at Ross?

Update: 35 act, 3.98 uw gpa
