University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

I was talking with the counselor for my state and they say that they have to give the results by the 24th (obviously) but nobody likes working during the holidays so it’s usually done before then.

hey guys, i personally am not applying to umich ED, but RD. Could y’all post your umich decisions (rejected, deferred, accepted) with your GPA/scores/ECs when you get your decisions?

I wish UMich would cost a bit less for OOS… It’s the price of a private school. But still worth it, I guess.

It worth it but I am worried of my parents

Uni decisions are literally all I’ve been talking about with my friends for the past week… I feel like they’re getting annoyed now haha  I wish the decisions come out faster! It’s so nerve-wracking!

Hi everyone, I’m a freshman here at U of M and just stumbled upon this feed. Here’s how early action works-

 1. Decisions will start to be released probably December 19th (day winter break starts for us) and will continue to be released until December 24th (they were released dec 20 last year)
 2. Emails will be released in waves at different times of the day, or you can check wolverine access
 3. Most people who aren’t accepted early action will be deferred (like me!)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I’m happy to answer them! best of luck to everybody!

so nervous!!! i am really scared of being deferred. i just want to get accepted right away and have no more stress and just enjoy the rest of senior year…

@class0f15‌
LOL I tried… Yeah GaTech’s EA is Jan 10th so I just wondered. Man my stress level is over the roof all the way till april 1st. I got my ED due next monday, UMich is probably next friday, GaTech in Jan and U of Toronto , UIUC, McGill in Feb, 9 UCs in March and 10 privates on April 1st. God help me…

Does UMich superscore for the ACT? If not, what would happen if i just sent multiple tests, b/c i flunked reading my last test and did well on science and vice versa.

Hey guys, does the University of Michigan consider classes other than the core classes in your gpa such as gym, music, art, religion, or do they just look at the core subjects. What would be a 93.2 in terms of a 4 scale and a 94.6 in terms of a 4 scale. Thanks

I’m pretty sure most schools don’t look at those, though they do add something to your character. Now, the thing with percentage to GPA is that, you can get 90s in all your classes, and that’s a 4.0. But if half your classes are 91 and half are 89, then it’s a 3.5 So colleges look at percentages by course and usually don’t convert to GPA. Where you from, if you don’t mind me asking?

We applied to the same colleges LOL

They do not superscore; they only see the highest composite score that you have

Oh and Do you all check your financial status place in Wolverine access where

View Financial Aid Award Summary

are showed up? Do you all have those? I still want to believe these mean somethin positive but…

I heard that while they don’t superscore, they look at your highest sub-scores from your tests you sent in, so you don’t get penalized for having a bad sub-score on one of your tests but not the other.
