University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

Regarding the engineering interviews, my son’s interviewer reached out to him today. He said this is a pilot program and from the looks of the original email, it’s just in certain geographic areas – larger cities like Houston, Chicago, etc. Anyway, he made it sound like they just want to get to know the person as opposed to the applicant and suggested meeting for an hour to talk. That’s scheduled in a couple of weeks.

@fdizzle‌ 35 composite

lee, most universities use alumni interviews to determine the applicant’s level of interest, communication skills, social adeptness etc…so if Michigan were to conduct interviews, I would expect them to be no different.

DS is a double legacy. His CC told us that’s only “a feather on the scale.”

@nicholaskeller @Finnlet OP edited to reflect

@fdizzle 33

@fdizzle 34

I wouldn’t worry then guys. You all have a really good shot at U of M, and if you’re in state then that’s pretty much a guarantee.

@nagintapls 35 ftw!!! Just got my 35 two days ago.

@fdizzle‌ Awesome man!

Is it bad I already have a countdown for this :-SS

Not at all

28

Has anyone else not been contacted about their HAIL Engineering interview yet? I received an initial email about it around Oct 20th, but I haven’t heard anything else or been reached out to. Are we supposed to contact someone?

@DanChan, if you responded that you wanted an interview, the alumni interviewer will contact you. At least that’s what happened in my son’s case.

@lee6666‌, yea I filled out the Google Doc a day or so after I was invited, I’m just still waiting to be contacted.

U of M is the last school I have left to hear from. I got a 30 composite

When do admissions come out?

The website says by Dec 24.

Too long of a wait :’(
