University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

It says by December 24th. I have heard they usually release it on a Friday so u think December 19th would be a good bet.

Are the interviews for the Engineering program only? Anyone get invited for an interview for LSA? I have to say of the 12 schools to which S is applying, this is the only one where he wasn’t able to personally meet with an admission rep. We did a college visit and no reps came to our area (except for those humongous college fairs when they aren’t likely to remember specific people) - we live in a good school district in a Chicago suburb.

Has anyone in state received a call or email regarding an interview? or are these for OOS applicants only?

My son was contacted for an alumni engineering interview. He is OOS. Interviews are being conducted from Nov. 10-25. I don’t know about LSA.

@goblue100 My theory is that colleges and universities like to release their admission decisions on a Friday-or directly before a holiday- because manic students and parents won’t be able to call. This gives results time to sink in. People who have questions have time to search the website for answers or vent on CC. I’m sure come Monday, the number of phone calls is drastically reduced. However, my hunch is that the results could come out any time Dec 19-24 because the admissions office phone lines will be closed as the campus is officially shut down for the holiday week. I can’t imagine that they would really release decisions on Dec 24- seems a bit twisted- but you never know. I suppose it will depend on whether they get through reading them any earlier.

@bsalum‌ that makes sense

I applied to Engineering and wasn’t contacted for an interview. Is there still time?

Interview is totally optional. One may be accepted without going through interview at all.

Kind of late, but i am an in-state applicant for the CoE. Never received anything regarding an interview. Good luck, everyone! :)

out-of-state for LSA

Ok, so the interview is for CoE only. Also, yes in state applicants have also been contacted for interviews. My friend was contacted 2 weeks ago.

Anyone have an idea of when we will start hearing back?

The vast, vast majority of the EA decisions will be released between December 16 and December 24. I would not expect anything before December 16.

@Alexandre:

How did you get that 16th december date? I thought they released all decisions on 24th Dec…

Last year decisions were released starting on the Friday before Christmas. I wouldn’t expect anything earlier than the 19th this year.

BetterThanBest, December 24 is the latest date. I agree with BSM. Although Michigan could start sending out decisions as early as December 16, it is likely that they will be sending them out slightly later, perhaps on the 19th.

Thanks @BSM1987 and @alexandre.

SMTD gets results earlier! they told us we would hear within a couple of weeks probably

Does anyone know how we find out?? Email, letter, online???

I think all three. @rhands8020‌
