University of Michigan Fall 2017 Transfer

https://www.michigandaily.com/news/transfer-students

This article has some good stats on transfer students. Transfers from WCC (The community college in Ann Arbor) had a 51% acceptance rate in 2014.

Just accepted yesterday as a rising sophomore applicant, with a 3.2 college gpa from case western reserve university, was just wondering if there is a facebook group for transfers?

Regarding my previous post about extending the EDR (we have to commit by May 1st), here is their response

Hello ____,

At this point, there is no need to extend your EDR deadline. If it is the last week of April and you still have not received your financial aid package, you may request the extension again.

At this time it is very likely that you will receive your package in time to make a decision without an extension.

Best,
Office of Undergraduate Admissions

@lexluther96 Yeah philosophy major B-) sickk

I am still waiting. I called last week to confirm that my application is completed and they told me that engineering transfers are looked at every closely and take much more time to evaluate

@ladymmm66 their engineering program is really prestigious so that’s probably why

@ladymmm66 their engineering program is really prestigious so that’s probably why

@tryinmybest I don’t think so…, I’d totally join one. Make it?

Hi! Does anyone know whether 3.5 from a top 40 private u can get me into CoE? I am so worried at this point because of my low GPA. And I earned a D in one science class because I missed the final, should I send an email and explain the grade to the admissions?? Thanks!!!

I am also applying for Coe and I am very nervous because this is the only university I applied tp. greatneaa, I don’t think that you should call them to explain, at least I wouldn’t, because I think that the GPA is not the most important thing.

@ladymmm66 same boat! I only applied for CoE and USC viterbi and kinda nervous that neither would accept me… i heard that GPA is the most important factor in the application for CoE and thats why I am worrying about this

@greenteaa, my GPA is 3.94, but I am transferring from a community college. do u think I have a chance?

@ladymmm66 thats really impressive, i think you are in good shape. dont worry

Is there anyone out there who was originally waitlisted their senior year of high school but still received a “guaranteed” sophomore transfer acceptance from UMich and has still not received a decision? I am one of those kids who received this conditional acceptance and I still have not heard back from Michigan so I’m beginning to worry. Anyone else in the same boat?

Posting this for the second time lol

I’m out here still waiting for my decision from LSA

@ladymmm66 I’m from a CA CC and I got in! I have a 3.93 GPA and my SAT is around (but a bit below) their median. Apply!

I am still waiting for the decision from Lsa as well. They received all my materials on Mar 6th.

We will get our decisions at some point…hopfully

@lexluther96 Thank you for your help! But it looks like they won’t honor your request for an extension? :frowning:

That’s nonsense. I am in NY and it’s not like I can just drop what I am doing (in the middle of the semester–no less) and take a 15 hour drive to Michigan!

Thanks, but no thanks, Michigan!

Since a lot of us here applied to CoE. Is there anyone who applied to MechE? If yes, could you list your stats so that I can compare. My GPA is 3.822 with 45 credits dont and 15 in progress. All but 4 credits, and English, are STEM courses. I study in a CC at Illinois so i think my chances are pretty slim.
