@historyrepeat great, i hope it works out for me this year! is it uncommon for them to take incoming second-years?
Hi, I’ve been reading everyone’s posts and decided to finally comment. For anyone having transcript troubles, I highly recommend you contact your UMich Transfer Counselor. My Wolverine Access still listed my college transcript as “not received” under the “Other Required Application Materials” after I confirmed with my UMich counselor about it being received two weeks ago. I then checked with the help center a few days ago, and they indeed had my transcript on file. They recommended that I shoot an email to my counselor saying that it was still left unchecked, and she sent a request in for it to be changed to “received.”
@424hara no not necessarily. They say they prefer Junior transfers but that just means the less credit hours you have the more they focus on your high school stats. If your high school stats are good and you’ve done good your first semester in college then I’d say you have a good chance.
@blackhawk86 i called them yesterday, and the guy said they haven’t received my transcripts both by mail and email. He said it’s pretty normal about the delay since this week is the rush time.
@HopefullyIGetIn hey i applied to UNC too! Yea they received mine too, i just need to submit my application
@BryanB200 I mean I can’t speak as any kind of definitive source I can only go off anecdotal evidence from the past semesters when I applied it always seemed like the COE people heard back a bit later on average
Just applied today !

My son received his official transfer ddmissions decision on Wolverine Access after midnight this morning. We are all so so happy for him! He is a transfer student from UMiami but we live in Michigan. Best of luck to all of you!
@umsigmadom congratulations! When was the application completed?
January 17, 2017 is when Admissions received the last required transcript (from his H.S.). He will be an entering sophomore in Fall 2017. Out of HS, my S was initally deferred, then waitlisted, then rejected but designated as a “guaranteed” transfer in June 2016. He would have a spot in the Fall 2017 class as long as he maintained at least a 3.0 GPA for this past Fall semester at the school he attended.
That’s quick! Though being guaranteed transfer, it probably doesn’t take long to say “yep over 3.0” haha
Congrats again!
I got my U-M ID this morning and it says on the email that I need to submit transcripts and etc. in fact, they received it but they just haven’t updated my status on the wolverine access
My professor still hasn’t put in his rec. into common app. I know today was the deadline…is it too late for him at this point? Thanks.
I woke up this morning and found out I was accepted. Never been happier
@kcsh1998 you can try. At least your professor submit it. You never know
@broche6 congratulations!
@umsigmadom congrats!
@broche6 congrats! Sorry I didn’t notice before that you had asked me what it meant if you had stuff listed as received under other required materials but looks like you know the answer to that question now! If you don’t mind me asking what were your stats and do you know when your app was complete?
@kcsh1998 I can tell you as a fact that your professor can submit your letters of recommendation after the deadline. How it was explained to me is that as soon as they do submit your letter of recommendation Michigan will get a notification to download it and add it to your app. Of course that doesn’t mean they can submit it a month later but they have some leeway with submitting it after the deadline.
I also found out that my application has now been marked complete which is awesome. Hopefully I won’t have to wait TOO much longer to get my decision
@historyrepeat I had a 3.1 and 34 ACT in high school, and a 3.75 my first quarter of college at a top 60 university. I was given a guaranteed transfer option, similar to what was described by someone else above, when I was rejected last year.
Was accepted today to LSA Econ! Woke up this morning and found nothing on wolverine access but at around 12pm I got the email with my acceptance in it. So happy!!! I am coming from an OOS private 4 year university as an incoming junior
