University of Michigan Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

My application was marked complete on 3/7 is that much later than anyone on this thread?

@Jd12345 hmm mine was marked on 2/15. however i wouldnt worry if i were you, they would have withdrawn your application by now if it missed the deadline. you might have to just wait a little while to hear back

Where do you see if it’s marked complete

Since a lot of students apply to Northwestern also… They are starting to notify transfer students tomorrow… This came from the horses mouth today per se.

Can someone chance me?
Current college: local in state (Michigan) university, college GPA: 3.92 took 14 credits but had 12 from AP and taking 16 now, Dean’s list, few extracurriculars, 1 internship
High school GPA: 2.9, ACT 32
Applied last year. Got rejected. lol.
Application marked complete 2/3

@lalalamichigan If you had the same stats with more than 60+ college credits you would be in, but since you have less they will consider your high school stats. You had a 2.9 GPA which might screw you over, but who knows? I’m making the decisions, maybe your essays or EC’s catch their eye.

@lalalamichigan I’m not making the decision*** lol

Can someone chance me? Thanks in advance!

Applied to: LSA, submitted on 2/1
Current College: Baruch College (in NYC)
College GPA: 3.89
16 credits last semester, taking 16 more now.

EC: student athlete (swimmer)

HS GPA: 90 (not sure what that is out of 4.0) from a specialized high school in NYC
ACT: 30
SAT: 2010
applied last year but was deferred then rejected

i was hoping they would have released decisions before tomorrow haha then maybe I wouldnt be doing applications for other schools like Northwestern

@swimgymnastics same here lol. i am just so slacking to finish the application due on 3/15

Hey there Friends

This question has been eating me alive since morning!

I submitted the application and all my transcripts by 2/15/18.

Everyone has been receiving notifications on whether they were admitted or not, but still haven’t heard back from the office.

On the 12th of March, while a lot of people were receiving decisions, I received an email stating that they needed extra Chemistry course descriptions for evaluating my credits.
I got those documents in within minutes on the request.

It seemed weird that I have not received any update so, called on the office of undergraduate admission and told them everything above and they( the receptionist) said that since its way past deadline, they may not consider my application.

On one hand:
I have a feeling that it may not be true, as if it were, they wouldn’t be requesting my course descriptions.
And on the other, my pessimistic side is telling my accept the fact that my application is not being considered anymore.

Thanks, guys,
It feels good just to rant out my college transfer admission anxiety with the fellow community

My background:

I applied for LSA → Computer Science Major
Currently at the University of Michigan, Dearborn: GPA: 3.83
Extracurriculars/Internships/others: Comparable to Ivy League( no kidding)
Essays: Extremely Passionate and Excellent.

Sorry my above post about Northwestern should read they are starting to review the applications tomorrow not decide on them…

is anyone here applying to Ross?

A stupid question: My last material was received on 2/22. Since someone here said that there will be a bunch of decision release this week. If I email my transfer counselor, will he tell me? Because the transfer application for other school is due on 3/15 and Umich is the first choice for me even if I get accepted to other schools…

@racheliiiiii I get that because I’m in the same boat (currently writing my app for penn lol) but i honestly don’t think they would be able to tell us or they wouldnt because its a personal matter and its not a reason for them to release decisions any sooner or give out that information of when it would be. and who knows if those rumors about decisions being released this week are true, i feel like people have been saying that every week lol but who knows

I feel like this is taking forever! Ever since that email on monday im just going crazy. I submitted my application on 1/31 and was complete on 2/15. It’s been so long!

@swimgymnastics Me!!

Your situation is weird. I applied to CoE. I submitted transcript of my current University on 2/13. I submitted transcript of summer session from another University on Tuesday this week. They asked me for syllabus and other things on Thursday. Just two days. It should not take so long time for them to ask for course description if needed.

Was asked for my professors contact info to obtain most recent grades. That was on Tuesday and my profs have not received an email. How long should this process take?

@whatsup99 have u started your application yet? I have been putting mine off haha i havent even made my account yet but with midterms and completing applications for other schools and not even knowing if i even got into mich its just been hard to get start4ed lol
