University of Michigan Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

do you have to call or something to see when your application was marked complete?

Yes, you need to call the admission office. They all are very nice and help.

@tonywangridley Do you mind sharing your college GPA and how many credits? Thanks

@heinleine17 oh no i’m living off campus. I know there’s Umich on campus housing website that’s really easy to find and i’m pretty sure there’s a roommate finder on it! (also for the dorms, i recommend east or south quad) ((bursley/baites if you’re an engineer tho!!)) good luck!

My university gpa is 4.0 and my high school GPA is 3.8.
I will have 30 credits in total at the end of this semester.

Has anyone heard back from the School of Information?

I GOT INTO STAMPS EMAil CaME AT 2:02pm

@Dtriley congratulations!! exciting news!

Thank you!! The only scary part is that financial aid says “0.00” … hopefully that’ll change drastically!!!

@billscho @Overestimated @Alexandre

Thanks for the information you all provided about a potential transfer to Michigan COE. The information you provide on here is helpful and appreciated.

She received an email this afternoon admitting her for fall. It is an excellent opportunity. I know she is excited, but that is all I got because she was headed into an engineering exam. I am sure she will be investigating the possibility extensively in the next few days.

Hello, I got my decision for school of nursing but I was waitlisted. Does anyone have any experience with that and what I should do?

Michigan allows students to transfer 60 credits from another school.

If the student has 12 AP credits under Michigan’s requirements, does that give them 72 total credits starting at Michigan?

Hello, my decision for the school of nursing came out yesterday. I was accepted! Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back from their program!

Admitted to LSA today!! I was also admitted in high school but decided not to go. I changed my mind after the first year at another University and reapplied as a transfer for this year. Here are my stats:

  • Currently a freshman in Canada with 30 credits by the end of the school year, only 10 of my credits will transfer though
  • HS GPA: 4.0
  • First year GPA: 4.0
  • ACT with writing: 32 - didn't take SATs
  • lots and lots of ECs
  • didn't have any letters of rec this time since I just started University, didn't really know any profs
  • formatted my essays very similar to how I did them in high school since that got me in (lol)

Good luck to everyone still waiting for a decision :slight_smile:

Does anyone know when Ross will get decisions?

Hey guys I received a personal email from a u of m counselor. I had 2 W’s in my transcript and he told me to send him an explanation on the withdrawals no later than 4/13. I quickly explained why and sent him an attached word document via email. He responded back thanking me for a quick response. Should I be worried? Are they interested in me? Or is it protocol that they need an explanation for withdrawals. I’m beyond afraid at this point…

Decision: Admitted

  • I’m currently a sophomore with about 55 transferable units. OOS (California CC)
    GPA: 4.0, in Honors Transfer Program which has TAP agreement with UCLA
    HS GPA: ~3.6 UW 3.8 W (we didn’t have many APs available). got straight As my senior year.
    SAT 2020 and 2030 (2150 SS)
    Major: Psychology
    No letters of rec

Man this such a good feeling. Michigan was my dream school when I was a senior and I was crushed when I got rejected. Part of my academic success is because I was so motivated to get into Michigan. I’m not as hung up on going anymore because of the likely lack of FA, but nonetheless, this is a major accomplishment for me.

Good luck to everyone else!
