University of Michigan Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

I guess your best bet is to apply as a junior, it really sucks if umich chooses juniors over sophomores soley because their college credits. Your highschool act/sat and gpa clearly show that you are willing to succeed at the university. Question: Why didn’t you apply straight out of highschool? @brilliant21

@Jd12345 i wanted to go south for college initially, so Michigan was not really on my radar at the time.

I really hope Michigan losing the national title doesn’t negatively affect us lol

Hey everyone!
I recently got accepted into LSA for fall of 2018 and I was wondering how people find roommates? Is there a Facebook page or a service that they use to help connect people? Please help! Thank you.

@heinleine17 Congrats on getting accepted! Do you mind sharing your college GPA and how many credits you had?

@Jd12345 thank you!!!
HS GPA: 3.91 UW with 6 APs
ACT: 31
Currently at Michigan State University
College GPA: 3.7 with 2 honors classes (would have been better but I had a concussion for a month)
Credits: 40 (not sure how many transfer)

I was accepted off of the waitlist on May 8th when I applied in high school, but I was already enrolled at MSU.

@heinleine17 there’s a Facebook group called university of michigan housing where they post about sublets and such! I also suggest going “University of Michigan class of [2020]” and you can post about needing a roommate and housing! that’s what I did :slight_smile:

hello i’ve been accepted!! i’ve known for a while lol
i genuinely have no idea how i got in. i think it was my essay because that was the best dang essay i’ve ever written.
i’m a current sophomore at central michigan university
gpa: 3.5
hs gpa: uhhh 3.4? a ton of AP classes
ACT: 25
almost all of my credits transfer (which i think was a good thing)
i have some unique extra curriculars, too. (a cappella group, summers on mackinac island, longterm involvement with a charity back home)

again, i have no idea how i got in, i’m a very average person, so good luck to you all! #goblue

(also, my post was flagged at first because i swore lololol)

@bush1om
So you just made a post and someone contacted you? I want to live in the dorms for my first year though, so I’m not sure if that’s what you are doing too? If so, which dorm are you in?

Hello! I applied to Stamps on 1/30.
I haven’t heard anything yet, is there anyone else who has or hasn’t heard from Stamps?

I haven’t heard back yet. Have you?!

I have not heard back yet, and I feel it will be bad news. I know the deadline of accepting offer is May 1st. It is too late to heard back good news.

Well, Michigan made some kind of error with my materials, so my application was completed late march…they said they would get back to me with a decision so let’s not lose hope yet

@cantwait2018 same here

Hello guys. Hope is the power! My application was marked as complete on the 21st of May, and I just received my admission at 0:00 am.
I’m an international student from China, and I’m currently a freshman at a Canadian university.

I wish you all the best of luck!

@tonywangridley wait yr application is marked complete in May???

possibly march…?

Sorry guys. On March 21st. I was getting too excited last night.

@tonywangridley lolol totally understandable. May I ask what major you applied for?

I applied for ECON at LSA (but showing as undeclared LSA on the portal).
