University of Michigan Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Just Curious, because I haven’t received admission yet and wanted to know if someone could tell me my chances, because I am pretty average across the board? (HS is below average) And also wanted to know how much applying with sophomore status (60+ credits) differed from applying with freshman status (30+ credits)

HS:
Instate HS
GPA: 3.85 (W), probably like a 3.5 (UW)
ACT: 28
ACTW: 11
Extracurriculars: Couple Sports, Eagle Scout, captain of the swim team, 100+ of community service, couple other clubs

College: Large in-state university
Major: International Relations, transferring for major in Economics
30 total credits
GPA: 3.73
Extracurriculars:
Intern with the State Senate
Intern with Governor Campaign
President of Club
Part-time job
Working as a cattle rancher this summer

Application:
1 letter of rec, I read it, nothing special really.
Essays were not bad.

Oh I also won a medal called the BSA called the medal of merit, which is awarded to about 100 scouts each year. There is roughly around 2,000 living people in possession of the medal of merit.

I applied with a GPA of 3.7 and 65 credits.

Just got accepted yesterday to LSA!

Overall GPA: 3.8
Total Credits: 87
Transfer Eligible Credits: 59
Transfer Eligible GPA: 3.9
In-State Community College Transfer

All LSA pre-reqs completed outside of a foreign language which I explained in my essay I wanted to take a language which wasn’t offered at my CC.

Application Submitted: 1/31/18
Marked as Complete(asked on the live chat): 2/9/18

Good luck everyone!

To which school?

Greetings! How do you know when your application is competed? I am pretty positive mine is, but am unsure whether or not some sort of icon would pop up and confirm if it is or not? Thanks for any help!!!

@wekapz they told you when it was complete over the live chat? I just tried asking and they wouldn’t give me a date, just told me to keep monitoring Wolverine Access :-w

@kmwumich same here! I feel like I should give them a call to confirm the application complete date and estimate the waiting time

@racheliiiiii I waited for fifteen minutes for them to tell me only to have them say nothing, I was so frustrated 8-| I feel like maybe they put the applications in order of number of credits and release decisions in that order too. So far it seems like those who have heard back have like 80 credits or some high number like that. I could be totally wrong though.

Was wondering if anyone knows how much harder it is for transfers with sophomore status vs those with junior status. I am applying as a Sophomore transfer this year for LSA (Econ).
Here are some of my stats if anyone can let me know my chances!

HS GPA: 3.85 (W)
ACT: 28

Public In State University
College GPA: 3.73
Honors College
Few Extracurriculars
Started my own club
2 internships with State government

Hey guys. I just got my accepted letter from University of Michigan. I am for COE. Good luck to you all.

Hi! Congrats! May I ask when did you submit your application?

@samzhushunwei I got in! Good luck my friend.

@eileenguooooo The application was marked complete on January 10th. It was really early.

@lhy2008 congrats!! where does it say that your app was marked complete?

@lhy2008 BIG CONGRATS, dude!!! I am still anxiously waiting for the decision. Hope I can make it.

@lolowowo If you go to your wolverine access you will see it below application date.

@lhy2008 does it say “complete” or just a date

I dont think it is posted on wolverine access?

@lolowowo I don’t think it says complete. If they need more information from you, the request will be in credential section on your wolverine access.
