University of Michigan RD class of 2020 thread

No, I’m not an athlete but an international student going to an international private school. I was educated in Russia and the UK. I suspect that’s why they accepted me…because I am “different”. . I do think they really like international students or those with atypical backgrounds. So far I’ve gotten into everywhere I have applied. UCLA accepted 5 students from my school. (I also mistyped. I got a 1950 on my SAT, not 1850).

Accepted
UMich College of engineering!

hello @Csmachuca did you receive the decision today or are you posting about it now?

@klingon97 thought it was really 1850 because if theb i’d really have a chance because i’m an international student too… but isn’t it supposed to be more selective on international applicants? Or not?

@redhare317 You will see that I corrected myself, saying that I has misstated 1850. My SATs were 1950 (720, 650 580). As for international admissions being more selective, you wouldn’t know that from my school. We were told that UM seeks diversity and that they found going to an international school overseas very attractive.

@klingon97 I agree with NICEx I had 32 ACT 2100 SAT a lot of extracurricular like internships and research papers published . I was rejected by UCLA CS but I had no expectations because SAT average for CS at UCLA is quite high. The good thing about Michigan is it accepts by college not major!

@tiwari124 That may be it. UCLA is definitely not harder to get into if you want to study Russian!!

@Csmachuca Can u please confirm did u receive ur offer today ?

@ NICE8x - Offered today ?

@Nico16 Why does everyone keep typing my username and not tagging me? Lol. No sorry, I was accepted March 4th

Are we suppose to check through the wolverine access?

@collegesrchr If you are accepted they will email you to let you know you have been accepted. I believe no matter the decision they will email you when it is ready.

hey guys, when you go into Wolverine access and click on the number of financial aid links, which (if any) shows the aid year of 2017 for you? I just wanted to see if mine changed because 2017 pops up for document status and award notices but not for summary or accept/decline financial aid. I was just accepted to UW Madison (they use the same portal system) and the financial aid links updated with the year 2017 10 minutes before I was accepted. Some people’s financial aid links did not update but were still accepted - but if yours shows 2017, its a great sign. However, I don’t know if UMich already has 2017 as a default for the two links I listed. Could anyone compare?? This could be important.

@JustaEngineer mine said 2017.

@JustaEngineer i have the same as you (2017 for status and notices). For the other two links, it says financial info is not found. I haven’t received my decision yet either.
Maybe 2017 is just the default.

Do they give you your financial aid info when you are accepted?

@jasishere No, I got mine a few days later.

@NICE8x Ugh, I submitted my FAFSA a long time ago but everything I click on in the portal says “No financial aid data available.” Should I be worried? I’m OOS

@jasishere Which link did you click on?

No @jasishere that’s the way Michigan works. They don’t show anything in financial aid until sometime after you’re accepted.
