@Mozzarellayye neither! Applications at umich are not read in the order in which they have been received. I guess that they are overwhelmed by the number of applicants and are still reading through a lot of them.
Oh, okay. Thanks!
Has anyone received an application for M-STEM Engineering program? Would love to hear feedback if the commitment is worth it. The only info on the board is very old.
@PruPru25 - I suggest you start a new thread asking that question. You will probably get more responses that way.
This is current information… https://mstem.umich.edu/prospective-students/m-engin/
I personally like this program. You get to get to college early. You get paid for participating. You get help if you need it through out the first two years. You get to do research and get paid. I just don’t see any downside to this program at all. It’s like they will make sure you succeed and have instant connections built in.
My sat scores were received a few days late, so I was told by my admissions officer that my app will most likely be considered on a “space-available basis”. What does this mean, and do I have any shot at all of getting in?
@Choski94 sorry to ask here, I wasn’t sure.
@Knowsstuff thank you for the link, we have that info and I agree it sounds great. Was hoping to hear if other recent admits are applying. I’ll try a more appropriate thread.
What days (date and day of the week) were decisions released last year? I can’t find it, sorry if someone already mentioned it.
@PruPru25 - no need to apologize, you will probably just have more people see your question on a separate thread.
It looks like a good program but we didn’t consider it since my DS is not interested in engineering.
@fcahsrs how many days late?
@PruPru25 see if there is a Facebook page for it then you can contact people that are in it and or just email them and maybe they can put you in touch with current students.
@turtledude they were sent 2 Days after, but on the portal it says received 2/8/18 so 7 Days after
I applied on the deadline but on the portal it says everything is late… should I have called my admissions rep? I figured that their system was just lagging because I technically submitted everything on time…
Is 3/30 at midnight a likely day for the decisions to be posted?
@Piercepan It’s more likely that they’d answer Friday, March 30 at 5PM EST
@Piercepan Same here, guess there’s no sense in worrying over it now
will we likely be rejected?
Anyone else apply for econ or financial mathematics major?
Hi! I’ve gotten so much out of this thread so I thought it was necessary I give back. I was at campus day today at Michigan (I was accepted Smtd) and spoke to an admissions officer about my other application for engineering. The officer said that the admissions office has been swamped due to large number of applications. Although they had been rolling some decisions out in ealier weeks, they have become backed up. She said they are trying to finish all decisions by Friday to allow students one full month before they commit.
I’ve been reading the thread from last year - during the last round (late March - early April), most decisions were waitlists or rejections, although a few were still accepted. So it’s not completely over, but the chances are not looking great…
