University of Michigan Ross Pre-Admits Fall 2018

@nicolasdeadman Ross decisions come out at 5:00 pm

@kvpop1 Same! I got accepted EA, and just today, my LSA tab says “This application is no longer active.”

My son got into Ross last month and his LSA tab turned into “This application is no longer active” a few days later. It seems backwards but perhaps a good sign?

Son got into ROSS!!!

Got into Ross!!

Nothing. Guessing another week? I wish they’d hurry up and tell me

Confirmed! Got accepted to Ross!

Do they always come out exactly at 5 or can they come out later?

Email sent, dont see anything on portal

This wave thing is frustrating…just put them all out and be done with it.

Into Ross! so excited

Has anyone else that applied/was accepted EA not heard back from Ross yet? In other words, should I be discouraged by the fact that I haven’t heard anything yet.

@eemmma i was accepted EA and i haven’t heard back either…glad to know there’s more in this boat!

@eemmma My son was accepted before Christmas and hasn’t heard from Ross. Don’t know what to think. Getting nervous. Maybe this Friday. Crossing fingers.

My DS was accepted EA, but didn’t complete his Ross application until mid January. He has not heard yet. His college counselor said that Ross is 2nd in competitiveness to the Wharton School. So while we were not as worried, now we are as that comment makes us think he doesn’t have a chance. He hasn’t “started a business” yet or other “notable” business achievement just great grades, SAT and community service. Thus feeling he is a dime a dozen…so not a stand out by other measures they may be looking for.

So if you don’t get in Ross preferred admission, you basically can’t study business at Michigan? Just wondering

Fixed it for you: If you don’t get into Ross preferred admission, you cannot get a BBA at Michigan.

You can study whatever you want and still have a “business” career, if that’s what you want. You can major in organizational studies or economics in LSA. You can major in English, minor in business, and get internships in the career field of your choice. You can major in PPE. There are many ways to get where you want to go.

@Ochillith based on the answer to a FAQ on their site it does not look good. I have heard it is extremely hard to transfer as a Umich freshman to Ross.
‘We encourage all prospective students interested in the Michigan Ross BBA to apply for Preferred Admission out of high school, as this is out main path of admission. Our Transfer Admission process is not always for U-M students that have previously applied to the BBA program. For more on transferring to Michigan Ross please see our Transfer Admission page’.

@brantly Speaking from experience, I didn’t get into the BBA program but I am currently completing and have completed numerous business internships. So whatever college you go to… .business internships a possibility, it isn’t just Ross!

@“AKK@uofm” Exactly my point. You can study business and get business internships without getting a BBA. And to be honest, I think those students are better off. A liberal arts degree endures for a life time.
