University of Michigan Transfer Thread

Decision is arriving in the mail is a rejection.

If you got deferred, there will be no updates on your WA. You'll just get a snail mail thing that says something like we need your second semester grades.

my WA was never updated, not even before my deferral. But when I got my deferral letter it didn't say anything about submitting addtl. materials just that they were going to make a final decision in April

Were there 2 different formats for the deferral letter? Colleges dont give out official mid-semester grades that I know of.

No. Basically they need your second semester end grades. Colleges don't give out official letters, but you can get unofficial ones.

damn i dont know why they rejected me.
i applied for junior transfer and i was done my third semester with 3.91 (44unit completed & 17 in progress - done prerequisites for econ major)
yeah, this is my first decision from them.

u got rejected with 3.91??! wow.

... uh... did you like... what the hell?

How?

That's very surpring blastah. I had a 3.91 first semester and I got in for sophomore transfer (LSA Econ). Considering that you had the same GPA by the spring semester of your sophomore year, I'm surprised you got rejected for JUNIOR TRANSFER!

What college do you go to? What was your SAT?

currently, I go to CC in the bay area and I didn't sent my sat score because I've never taken the test. aint it supposed to need that score for junior transfer though? I haven't got the mail yet but the reason should be on it. damn, you guys think i request for reviewing my application again? BTW, im an international student and i got 253 on CBT.

this is probably silly but today under my view application status link another link showed up View I-20 or DS-2019 Status.

This was never there before and I've had a WA acct since January. It's for intl applicants which I'm not but did anyone else have this just pop up? have you had it all along?

i got that too, but it says "no I-20 information is available at this time."

I have this too and at first this was the only change but for some strange reason I decided to check WA again like a half hour later (b/c doing this college process all over again gives me OCD) and I had the "View Decision" link. I was accepted! All you guys should check because as random a link it was for those who aren't internationals, it just may mean an acceptance.

Congrats QNYerGrl

now don't you feel slightly silly for worrying so much? :D

QNYergrl- Are you the first transfer student on this thread to get a decision AFTER DEFERRAL?? Has anyone else recieved a transfer decision AFTER they were first deferred???

Cvjn, thanks for the congrats! In hindsight I definitely feel silly considering all time I spent worrying over this. Just glad its over with a happy ending.

cellardoor7, I wasn't deferred although I did apply very late in the game (around mid-January). Before getting my decision, I actually never heard anything from Michigan aside from the standard 4 emails that they send out.

Are you going there for sure next year? If enough transfers get in, we should all like go out for dinner one night. I think I know a few that might be up for that.

I'm still waiting on NYU & GWU but even if I get in those Michigan is the front runner. Dinner sounds like a great idea. Cvjn, are you from Michigan? Not to sound stalkerish but in one of your posts I recall you saying you go to college in Michigan. The reason I ask is cause I have visited my relatives in Macomb a couple of times.

I go to WMU in Kalamazoo. I'm originally from Asia, but I've lived here long enough to be considered a resident.

WoooHooooo!!!!!! Transfer students deferred??? Just got accepted!!! good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know anything about transfer housing, like where you would recommend living etc.?

I'm wondering about transfer housing too. All I know is that it's much better to be at Central Campus than North Campus...
