University of Michigan Transfer- Winter 2020

I am applying to Engineering Physics from CA

what are you looking to do research in? @PerryHorn

Oos from NY applied to LSA

Hopefully we all hear back soon

I applied to physics.

This is it. Good luck everyone! Hope everyone here gets in!

@fastestbigguy
I want to research in Quantum Information or Probability. My background is really mixed. If we both get into Mich I can probably find you.

I just called Engineering and they said (most) decision won’t come out until late November (I think same for LSA too). Hope this helps

I emailed my admissions rep today and I got an automated email saying she’s out of the office giving “early action decision to respect the timeframe “ for freshman apps. What I don’t understand is how me going next semester is ignored for seniors in high school…

@stitch12345 no way… there’s just so many things wrong about that. Hang in there!!

I just emailed my Admission Counselor about the approximate release date of the admission decisions. Attached is his response:

“Admissions decisions for transfer are typically released 6-8 weeks after the application deadline, so you can expect to hear back sometime in mid to late November.”

@ptz99999
That is what they have been saying every freaking time?

it will literally be 7 week this thursday… my hope is nearly gone I really don’t think i’m going to get in

I think whats confusing to everyone is the past few years decisions according to cc started late october/november 1…and finished up by mid november.

When I called them they told me “no decision has came out”

I am a student coming from a top 15 liberal arts school. I currently have a 3.43 and a 31 on the ACT. I had excellent extracurriculars (many leaderships positions) in high school. My HS gpa was a 3.4 at a top boarding school. I am applying to the Liberal Arts school at Michigan. How do I look? **I am out of state

I think you have an OK shot.

We have similar stats and my old counselor said I have an OK shot. I have a 3.32 GPA and 1480 in a top private school. Now a 3.95 in top 30 LAC. OOS like you.

Did anybody hear back today?

Nothing yet

Yeah im gonna guess we’ll hear back in mid November at this point. Im just getting more nervous cause a 3.1 is right on the edge of CoE gpa requirements so I feel like it could go either way for me :confused:

@PerryHorn The 3 big things with CoE is gpa, pre-reqs, and program. If you have all the pre-reqs done (and they transfer, i learned that the hard way when I applied the first time), and 3.0 pre-req gpa, you’ll be considered. Program wise, if the slots are filled they’ll go with the better applicant, but if not, they’ll just accept you as long as you got the gpa and pre-reqs. You got the gpa, but it’ll come down if you have the all pre-reqs done and they transfer.
