University of michigan transfer

those of you who were just accepted, what are your stats?? :)

and what did you apply to?

accepted to LS&A

college credits—61
college gpa-----3.826
extracurricular—phi theta kappa member
high school gpa—3.1
ACT--------21

transferring from macomb community college in michigan.

Hey guys!

Here are my stats (I was accepted to LSA):
-High school GPA- 3.4
-College GPA (Fashion Institute of Technology in New York)- 3.8
-I didn’t submit my ACT/SAT scores
-1 teacher rec that was “stellar”— proclaimed by my professor!
-60 credits, applied for junior year Fall 2011 transfer
-A ton of EC’s, lots of community service, and I have been working full time while attending college, Phi Theta Kappa, Dean’s List
-Out of state, from New York
-I emphasized a few of my accomplishments in high school (I directed a film that won a few titles at film festivals around the world, I produced a TV show, I began working in fashion at 13 years old, and whatever else I could think of at the time)

In my opinion, the essays are what got me in. I didn’t write stylistically perfect essays, but they were true to who I am… which I think was able to help me stand out a bit.

Best of luck to you all and keep us all updated :)

Thanks anthony! Hope my posting helped! Fingers crossed!

Congrats Tom!! What program did you apply to??

Hey Habala, what program did you apply to? Maybe LSA only released them so far?

Congrats to you as well. I got accepted to LSA. I’m a math and Econ double major

when did you guys apply?

Febrary 1st

That’s awesome, sounds like a lot of work : )

And @sailor09 I applied around January 21st or so.

ccmmff1,
I applied to LSA as a Biology major.

Do you guys think that more decisions will be sent out this week even though it is spring break for the school? I hope the admissions office works over break!

I just went on the online live assistance chat thing and asked if they would send out decisions this week and they said that they aren’t sounding out anymore decisions until Mid-April.

Was that for LSA?

Ccmmff1, your posting was great. Thanks a bunch. Always good to know who the admissions officers want.

Mid-April…that’s really disappointing. But at least it’ll give me a chance to send them my second semester grades, which I feel are stellar. That should help. But waiting until then will completely suck.

Accepted to LSA a couple weeks ago.

College GPA: 4.00
Credit: 36
ACT:33
High School GPA: 4.0 (Uw), 4.6 (W)
Solid ECs, sub-par essays (according to me)

Good luck everyone!

"

This is my first year in college, in MSU engineering.

My first semester GPA was a 3.6 and this semester is looking even better. I will have taken 30 credits by the end of the year, but I am already a considered a sophomore here now because of AP credits. I need to go to U of M for that major, so the pressure is on…

I was wait listed last year for engineering
High School GPA : 3.5/4.33 with 6 APs
ECs: A lot, 2 varsity sports, officer in NHS, and 3 more clubs.
ACT: 29 composite, 34 Math
“”“”“”“”“”

Acceptance email received at 2PM today, and it was on Wolverine Access at the same time, never ever give up.

Good luck everyone! When in doubt, work harder and reapply. It’s what I had to do…

I just talked to the admissions office and the person said that she did not know when the next batch of decisions would be released but said that the latest we can expect to hear back is mid-April.

Maybe I didn’t clarify my question and so I got the answer for a different question. It relieves me that they are stil sending out decisions everyday, the idea of waiting until April was alreading making me more anxious.
