has anyone applied to industrial and operations engineering??

Anyone hear from the School of Nursing yet? I’m beginning to get worried that I haven’t heard anything yet.

I would also suggest telling him to do more ECs! It seems your son hasn’t participated in any during college (correct me if I’m wrong) or high school, so participating now will help a lot. Even volunteering somewhere over the summer will help, and who knows, it might inspire him to have another reason to transfer to Umich! Best of luck to your son!

Is he instate or out?

do you think its more likely to transfer to umich for sophmore or junior year? Also is it bad to not have heard yet?! i cant wait!

anyone apply to the school of kinesiology?/anyone know how competitive it is?

Does the fact that those of us who haven’t heard, still haven’t heard, mean that we should expect that we were rejected and they’re just holding off on sending out a huge wave of rejections mid-April? I can’t see why they would continue to appear to be evaluating applications and withholding decisions if they had filled the class and were ready to reject everyone who hasn’t already been admitted.

But at the same time, it seems to me that if we had gotten in, we would already have heard. I don’t pretend to understand how the admissions process works - it’s obvious that particularly with the introduction of the Common App this year, it’s gotten a little out of hand over there in UM Admissions - but it’s hard and getting harder every day to sit here and wait to hear.

I have been in touch with a few people at Admissions - through a series of lucky correspondences, I ended up briefly in touch (just asking her a few general admissions questions) with the lead counselor who reviewed/will be reviewing my app for Fall 2011 transfer. When I emailed back in February with another question, I was told that my app was Complete and would be reviewed “shortly”. My response to that was - I applied in January and here, at the end of Feb, you haven’t even LOOKED at it yet - but people who applied after me are getting in already?!

I guess I’m just pessimistic and wondering if anyone else is thinking along the same lines.

sailor09, instate.

sprints, he actually has quite a few EC’s now, as they are required as part of his honors college at current school. I didn’t review his transfer app, other than editing his essays for grammar/spelling, though, so I don’t know what he included.

He is now considering going to Flint or Dearborn campus as a way of getting in through the back door. Who knows …

transferr, rumor has it it’s easier to transfer as a junior … but that’s just rumor.

it’s not a rumor that it’s easier to transfer as a junior. They explicitly say on their website that they prefer transfers with junior standing. In fact, most schools are like this.

I’m sick of waiting too. It doesn’t seem fair that people get responses within like 2-3 weeks, and others have to wait. W/e

It honestly does sound like they are holding out decisions to send all the rejection letters in one big encompassing swoop mid-april. When I applied in HS, my buddy who applied a month after me received his acceptance letter a month before I received my rejection one. Just a thought.

that makes me feel like anyone who hasn’t heard back yet is in the maybe pile… people have already heard they are rejected. so i feel like we are the people they are unsure about. we’re in the group of the maybes…

I feel like there have been an equal amount of acceptances and rejections. Definitely agree with the post above me, i’m sure now it’s just a numbers game. The ones that they definitely want are in and they just have to figure out whose left. “Bubble applicants” haha.

I really hope that all this “maybe” stuff is true. And that all of us maybes get lucky :)

Also, I’m transferring as a sophomore, but the School of Nursing only accepts people into the sophomore level of the program and only allows 30 credits to transfer regardless of how many you have, so I’m hoping that helps my chances.

Hey, I heard back the first week of March. I was accepted to LSA with a $25,000 grant.
My stats weren’t exactly spectacular, but I believe it was my essay and unique personal situation that helped the admissions office see that I am a driven individual who will make a unique addition to the school.

HS GPA: 2.0
College GPA: 3.6
Solid EC, Solid Essay

Honestly, I was floored when I found out I got in…I didn’t expect to. DON’T give up, or assume you don’t have a shot for any reason. I barely graduated high school and now I’ve been admitted to one of the best colleges in America. I know it sounds corny, but just have confidence in yourself.

congrats ashley!

did you find out through email or wolverine access?

Accepted today (3/16) into Kinesiology, posted on Wolverine Acces first, then received an e-mail.

HS GPA 3.5
ACT 26
College GPA 3.9 (59 credits to transfer)

Good Luck, everybody!

Congratulations snackyx!
Your stats sound just like mine so you give me hope!

Thanks!!! I found out via email.

I just got my acceptance on Wolverine Access this morning. I am so excited I can’t even begin to find the words. Keep checking WA and email, guys, and BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!
