University of Michigan vs. Northeastern University nursing schools

So I was admitted to both the University of Michigan School of Nursing and Northeastern’s nursing and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to which one is a better choice. I am also considering other schools that don’t have nursing majors (so just majoring in bio), but it would be great to end college with a BSN and then I could wait to go to graduate school for advanced practice. Any opinion on the schools’ programs and overall experience would be much appreciated!

Are their cost concerns we should be aware of?

Michigan’s nursing school is brand new and absolutely world class, and there are many more research opportunities at Michigan. If there is not a large price difference I would go blue.

@Alexandre @TooOld4School Thank you! Well I got a merit scholarship that helps A LOT for Michigan (full tuition freshman yr and half for the last 3). It wasn’t even an option before that because I’m from California so the out of state tuition is insane. And for Northeastern i also got merit $ that helps. So the costs aren’t that big of an influence now thankfully!

If cost is not a concern, Michigan is a much better option.

“Even for a nursing degree”? WTH does that mean?

Both are very solid programs at very good schools - by prestige, I think Michigan has the edge, but I don’t think that should be the start and end of the choice. Location and co-op are the two really big separating factors:

Boston is a huge medical hub, and that directly interacts with the co-op program. If you prefer that program to a traditional college experience, I would go NEU. If you don’t, the I would say go Michigan.

Socially, Michigan is again much more traditional when it comes to school spirit, greek life, and campus feel while Northeastern has a more urban campus that regularly makes use of and interacts with Boston. Michigan has Ann Arbor which is a nice place in its own right.

i am visiting both in a few weeks so i guess i will see which town/city/campus feel i fit into best! thanks!

could anyone also speak for Boston Colleges Nursing Program?
