University of Michigan Waitlist 2024

Waiting for LSA. Any reason you think tomorrow? I’ve been thinking Monday. Would be great if tomorrow.

Good luck to all on the waitlist tomorrow!

Until that waitlist is closed, there’s hope. I wish you all that are waiting for a decision to try and be patient.

I’ve mentioned this before, but a couple years ago, a student posted a acceptance off the waitlist right about the 4th of July.

I’m thinking tmr coz most of the decisions happened on a thursday i think

i got deferred on a thursday, offered waitlist on a thursday

also the first wave of people getting off the waitlist happened on a thursday

let’s hope for something nice

Ok. Makes sense. Here’s hoping. Good luck to all.

Anyone think there is any chance for an OOS student who was DENIED after being deferred being accepted now, if she wrote a letter to the admissions counselor?

@daisyh. If you got an email saying you were denied then no. If you were never wait listed then no. Good luck at your school of choice.

I am not sure why your upset? I dont think I am anti michigan but stating that there is a chance when it comes to the waitlist. @sushiritto and your statement on the endowment makes no sense because as an asset manager I can tell you michigan can not just liquidate their endowment to cover expenses that’s not how it works. Selling assets of 3 billion while the market is down causes more losses that no university would take while managing for the long term. But it seems we cant comment if we dont have a kid at michigan to give hope or information. Kindly ignore my comments and move on as from now they are not directed to you.

Do you think they will create a group so they can all meet since they start mid year?

congrats! Sounds like a great program.

@LocoTaco and @ephmom hope they create a groups for these mid year start kids.

I’m not upset at all. And please stop tagging me, if you don’t want me to respond to the tag.

UMich anticipates losing $400 Million to $1 Billion per the news article and they’re taking mitigation measures such as salary freezes, layoffs, etc. If there’s a football and/or basketball season, then possibly future mitigation of that loss will happen.

If you’re an asset manager then why would they liquidate any endowment assets, let alone $3 Billion? UMich likely doesn’t have to use any of their endowment, other than maybe restricted or unrestricted income earned from those assets, since they obviously have a yearly operating budget and reserves. Also, UMich could just delay construction on a large project or two, enroll more students, raise tuition, etc. as more business returns to the hospital, that’ll further mitigate losses.

And I never said UMich wouldn’t draw from their waitlist, but they have over admitted by 100 +/-students. But until the waitlist closes, there’s hope.

As for commenting, you seem to be anti-Michigan and you also aren’t an alum, prospective student, student, or a parent of a UMich student. That’s strange to me. Continue to post, if you chose, but your earlier comparison of MSU to UMich, and their endowments, wasn’t a good comparison. It fell flat IMO.

And I’ll comment when someone wants to make that comparison in a UMich forum. But you won’t see me post in the MSU or PSU forum, since I know very little about those schools.

Now let’s get back to the prospective UMich students here, so they may talk about the active waitlist and ask any questions about the university.

any acceptances today?

Little bro got an email from Mich Stamps asking if he wanted to stay on waitlist, and that they would take some off of it soon. Is that a good sign? Or is that sent to everyone

COE OOS

@ambitionsquared I didn’t get that email- at this point I would think thats a good thing.
