University of Michigan Waitlist Applicants 2022

@michigan15 We all know that the odds are low - so it will be a “bonus” if anyone gets in. Hopefully you have another great school that you’ve already registered for. Most people applying here were exceptional students, I imagine - and as such, likely have other great options. As people have pointed out before - if Michigan is truly the only school for you then get good grades and apply to transfer next fall.

@michigan15 did you hear that from your regional michigan counselor or your school counselor?

so far I have only heard one person saying a friend out off the waitlist. Anyone else heard back?

I haven’t checked the portal at all but I haven’t gotten any e-mails so nope

@luhweihuang when did your friend hear back from michigan?

Oh nvm I thought ur friend got off of the waitlist sorry for the confusion

@bobabobaboba I heard from my school counselor. And based on how there have not been any waves yet, I don’t have a good feeling about us getting off

has anyone heard of a friend getting off the waitlist at Michigan yet?

Does anyone know how many acceptances were given out this year? My friend went to a campus day because he got in and said that they only accepted around 6700 out of 65000 applications. I think that number is false or that he must have misheard what they said because there is no way that they only accepted that many people. That’s literally the size of their incoming freshman class and unless their yield rate is 100% they will need to fill all those vacant spots.

I don’t know what the exact number is but it’s most likely not 6700. If it is let’s hope that quite a few of them decided to go elsewhere lol

I hope they follow last year’s pattern of accepting many off the waitlist

@ejk2022 on http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/2079278-whats-the-um-acceptance-rate-for-this-year.html#latest it says that they admitted around 12500 students

Does anyone know what the University of Michigan’s yield rate usually is?

Last year it was 43% (15,871 accepted out of almost 60K applications, 6,847 enrolled). In 2016 it was 42% (about 55K applications, about same number of acceptances).

They would not have accepted only 6700 persons - that’s the maximum class size, which would be a 100% yield rate.

So where is everyone else going to college right now?

Syracuse University

@michigan15 they only accepted 10% from the waitlist last year…

@nmart1n I guess compared to 1-2% from previous years, 10% is a lot

Currently committed to the University of Pittsburgh.

So since there are no waves yet, do you guys think is it gonna be like 1-2% chance to get off of the waitlist?
