University of Michigan Winter 2019 Transfer Thread

Thanks a bunch for your help! I’m a little relieved now. I was really worried before since the competition in Computer Science major is cutthroat.

Also international students. Anyone would evaluate my statistics?

Current school: The Ohio State (Lol)
Current GPA: 3.92
High school gpa: 90/100(oversea high school)
Sat: 1440
Sat2: Math level2 790 physics 780
4AP 5 for micro and macroeconomic 4 for physics 1 and Cal
Major: Math
Credits: 30 completed 16 in progress.

Not that much college experience. Two interns back to china in two universities’ lab.

kind of worry about the credits hours since I know that umich evaluates them really heavy.

Hi everyone! I’m jumping in on this thread. I applied for winter transfer. I was wondering if anyone knows if they read the applications by when they were turned in? Like if you turned yours in earlier are you more likely to hear back first?

any update???

Also what year are people applying to transfer as? freshman or sophomore?

@jms1234 I’m not sure how they review the applications. I assume they read it based on when they received them but that is just my guess. I’m applying as a sophomore with 46 credits completed.

46 credits? Quarter or semester? because I am also sophomore and I just completed 32 credits and 18 in progressing, kind of worried about if my credits enough

@isdjoaijaosdjoa My school uses semester. I did spring and summer courses, that’s why I have 46 credits

@isdjoaijaosdjoa i have the same amount of credits as you. I wouldn’t be too worried about it. thats a normal number of credits for a sophomore at this time in the year

@jms1234 Thanks for replying me,do u know if umich will consider ap as part of transfer credits?

@isdjoaijaosdjoa @jms1234 I also have 32 credits completed, sounds like most people are in that range!

@isdjoaijaosdjoa umich doesn’t consider ap as transferrable college credits. They will be evaluating college work

@rosie1898 @isdjoaijaosdjoa I believe you still get college credit for AP classes, if you got the required score.

Yes, U-M only considers (and looks at) college credit earned post-high school graduation. You can transfer any AP and Dual Enrollment credit prior to high school graduation as long you have the score / grade they require.

I am so anxious to hear back. Has anyone heard anything?

HI, I applied to the School of Kinesiology. Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back? The deadline was October 1.

@goblue19 No idea how long it is gonna take. My guess is we hear back the last week of October. And what are you majoring in? I applied to the School of Kinesiology as well.

I’m majoring in movement science hopefully, and you? If I hear back before you, I will let you know.

@goblue19 Sports Management. And thanks!

I hope there is a wave this Friday so I can have hope that they actually started reviewing the applications.
